I preordered from unlocked mobiles and their pre order is the Bluetooth speaker and case. I wonder is there any way to get a gear VR from Samsung?

I see in the states you have to register your device to get the bonus

It won't be a nice phone for very long without the case. They're needed unfortunately.

Just checked on my S7 Edge order status on the Samsung UK site.

The Gear VR has been added to my order, and both are now showing in stock. See attached. Hopefully will ship Monday!! :)

I can see nearly the same, but my Edge is showing a status of "Pre-Order Now", that doesn't look good...

How do you check it? Is that just the link in the order confirmation email?

    Yup.

Some of the UK guys over on the AndroidCentral forums have their statuses as 'shipped' and 'processing'.

Cheers, I see now. Both are showing on my order too. We shall see what happens then, I'm still half expecting Tuesday to come and all orders made with redirection addresses to be blanket cancelled.

Doubtful at this stage. Fingers crossed.

After many attempts, I managed to order one on Wednesday from Samsung.co.uk, however that got cancelled on Thursday. So went and ordered one with three.

But I guess since your order has been processed already it will go through

Mine are the home and capacitive buttons. Will take some getting used to, especially with them being the wrong way round.

Sammy's way of having back and multi tasking buttons is stupid, but you do get used to it.

Right, just sold my 9-month old Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 for €140 (cost me €169 brand new so delighted with what I got!) in the lead up to the arrival of my S7 Edge :D

I'll be using one of these for the next three or four days, cracked screen and 15 minute battery life: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_c-4759.php :P:P

Won't the depend on the app though, and aren't SD card woefully slow and unreliable compared to the internal memory on a phone ? I'd probably only be using the SD card for app's I rarely use or apps that don't require fast read access.

Also read the article again - Samsung are not allowing the use of adoptable storage so the SD card won't be seen as internal storage. Which I think is a good idea as otherwise you can't remove your card for the purposes of file transfer since it's formatted to be used as part of main memory when you enable adoptable storage. Also your phone's memory read/write speeds would likely run at the speed of the SD card and not the ultra fast UFS internal memory (lowest common denominator). Samsung have said adoptable storage they feel is more aimed at emerging markets with phones that have only 4GB and 8GB internal memory.

Still I think they made a mistake by not bringing out a 64GB version at launch. I still may get one but am holding out till the inevitable faults are resolved. My 1st S6 Edge 64gb had air bubbles trapped between the glass and amoled screen, and the S6 flat 64gb I swapped it for had the loose/rattly home/fingerprint button some people were unlucky to get.

Guys what's Samsung policy if there is a hardware fault with the phone as I'm going to buy from Samsung.co.uk would they replace the phone through the Irish Samsung store ? Or would I have to send it back to the UK? Do they do a Apple like service were the send a replacement phone to you first? I've always owned IPhones so I'm not familiar with How Samsung would handle this. Thanks

I'd imagine as your contract is from whoever you bought it from that you would need to return it to Samsung UK, though they 'may' allow you to return it to the store in the local country.

They offer a 2 year warranty in this country and in UK (likely you can claim within 6 years from when you bought it though (statute of limitations attached to sales of goods). A friend returned a faulty tablet he bought from there UK store and they have no advance replacement service. He was waiting weeks for a replacement. He only had use of it for about 2 weeks before the screen started acting up.

When it comes to phones I would rather buy from a bricks and mortar shop if possible.

Once the phone is bought within the EU, Samsung will allow repairs to take place in any EU country. I got confirmation of this from them when I bought a tablet from France. Shops such as the Samsung experience stores will take in EU products that need to be repaired, or you can arrange such a repair with Samsung Ireland directly. Once its not a grey import (e.g from Asia) the warranty is valid EU-wide.

That is good to know. I think when my friend bought his device there were no Samsung experience stores and Samsung in Ireland pointed him to the UK. Was a very poor experience. Glad to see it's improved. That being the case I would consider buying from Samsung directly then.
