Helena Christensen's son is called Mingus.

Father is Norman Reedus from the Walking Dead.
    Mingus Reedus. Poor kid.
Named after Charles Mingus. Couldn't they have just gone for Charles?

Jesus wept, Mingus Reedus sounds like something cured by anti-biotics and Canestan.

Probably not the worst but heard a mother calling out to her son in the shop today.....phoenix. But im in Australia, they tend to get away with odd names here.

I have met two women named Candida in the last month, which literally is an infection cured by Canesten

I observed a child being yelled at the other day, couldn't determine the gender, about 3 years old I suppose... "Thatcher".

I hate anything Americanised like cody, or blatantly taken from pop culture.

Some of this is genuinely hilarious. A list of popular Irish names where no one from Ireland was consulted first

    Love it!
Kaylee: This name is a modern invention based on the names Kay and Lee, but it also sounds like “céilí,” the Irish word for a gathering.

Basically, "it's got nothing to do with the Irish, but it sounds a little bit like an Irish word so you're all set"!!!

I graduated on Friday and cringed when a girl with the middle name "Angel" was conferred with her masters. Did her parents not foresee moments like this?

As cutting and uppity as this may sound, most people with names like Angel, Kayden and Ruby-Rose won't have to worry about getting their Masters. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I would hate for my name to translate into a random noun like that.

Give that poor kid a water-based nickname early, like "Puddle", as it's probably going to be really bad if left to classmates down the line. Clever parents there, way to go to getting your child bullied.

Zach and Jake and Josh are the bloody worst. Fine if you're a Yank. They seem to be into their aul Old Testament names over there. But it just sounds stupid, when some mother in Pennys is roaring at her little darling to be bleedin quieh !

I dont see what's so inherently American about those three names.
