Notice Period and Existing Contract

I provided notice to my employers 2 weeks ago, my notice period is 3 months and I'd like to leave earlier and my new employer, would appreciate a shorter notice so I can start. They know it's 3 months and accept that for now.
I'm hoping to agree roughly 2 months on this, there is one other thing, I was meant to have a pay increase as of the 1st of March, I contacted them before this highlighting that a review and increase was written into the contract, this has been ignored and the date on the contract (01/03/16) has now passed.
Does anyone know if this would be considered a breach of contract and could facilitate an earlier exit if pushed?

    Any comments appreciated

Generally if you hand in your notice then a lot of companies do not pay bonuses or award pay increases during the period of notice.

If you want to leave earlier you need to negotiate that with your manager.

Completely understand that and not expecting it to be honest but they have chosen to completely ignore it and let the date they put into the contract lapse so just seeing if this is osmething that could be leveraged when I am nbegotiating my leaving date
