Mazda6 Satnav not receiving GPS signal - any ideas?

    Hi folks,

My Mazda6 TomTom Satnav was working fine until a few day ago. Now it's not receiving any GPS signal and is stuck at my home location. I've tried the following but no success: 1) removed sd card and re-inserted, 2) done a factory reset from the options menu. I can still use all the search functions etc, but still get an 'awaiting gps signal' notice.

Any ideas? Can a GPS receiver be replaced in the existing multi-media unit?

    TIA

First thing I would do is pop out the radio and check the connections at the back. I'm assuming it's the UK Business Edition you have with the Tom Tom nav. It takes a bit of dismantling so from memory:

    1) Pop off the gear knob
    2) Pop out the cup holder in the centre console revealing a few screws for the currounting trim to remove
    3) Ease off the trim at the centre console and move upwads towards the dash either side
    4) There's either a few screws for the heater controls or the cover pops off revealing them - can't remember. Thye've got a couple of connectors at the back of them. You should then be able to get at the screws for the fascia surround and you're done.
