Picked up this Garmin Nuvi 765T satnav off of Ebay.
It has full EU mapsMP3 player,Headphone jack and it bluetooth.
Connects up to my SENA SMH5-FM too.:D

Cheap adjustable waterproof case off of Ebay and Im good to go.:)

No need for crazy over priced bike specific satnavs.

Yeah it will do the job ok. Personally i prefer the bike specific one.
No need for a case. They also work through gloves. They are far more durable and there is a mount for them wired to the battery so just click it into the mount and off you go.

But i wouldnt be paying the crazy 600 quid prices for a bike one. I got one in a halfords sale for 290 down from over 600. Deffo wont say no to a bike specific one at that price

Cant beat a bike specific one mate I am telling ya, had a high end car one in Germany and it was a nightmare to use case fogging up and not touch screen really was useless.

    Stewie,
Are those Helds worth the cash? My Knox handroids need replacing.

Yes they are.I got them in Crossans at the weekend with 20% off the price.

2 compartments, one for warmer drier days and ventilation on your hands.
Then you have goretex compartment for wet and colder days.
Very comfy glove and not bulky either, you have very good feeling of the handlebars and controls with them on.:)

For anyone with a taty looking swingarm. On the gixxer the back end of the swingarm was in bits, paint peeling and missing all over the place. It was fine from the weld onwards (where the factory finish is more hammerite style anyway) so from the weld I taped it and sanded it down with 600-1500 grit and sprayed it with halfords etch primer 3 coats and halfords satin black 5 coats. No sanding in between and it genuinely looks like it came out of the factory.

I wish I had taken before pics because it really was bad.

Did the exhaust heat shield aswell. The marks in the pics are just fingerprints and a few very small chips I wasnt bothered filling.

Well worth doing if needed tbh.

Looks nice, thats Dealz spray on bike cleaner is very good.
The cost of a bottle of Muc Off would get you several bottles of No More Dirty Bike cleaner, and its just as good too.:)

Looks great, I will have to get some of that Dealz stuff.

I need it too, the bike is completely covered in crap. Changed oil and filter today and flooded the garden with a liter of 10w40 (yeah... poured in fresh oil only to realise I hadn't put the drain plug back on... I know./. I am a danger to myself some days..). Luckily garden is about to get completely redone, so no major harm done (other than to my self esteem), cut out the grass and soil with oil and filled it in a refuse sack for disposal. Ouch.

That dealz cleaner - you just spray on agitate any dirt then rinse off with water is it? Must get a couple of bottles of it. Was gonna get some muc off in halfords but it's mental money for a bottle!

I installed a set of Led lights from ADV monster. I connected them to a dimmer which works perfect for me. I have them set to about 20% brightness but when I hit the high beam they go full brightness. These are seriously bright lights. Im not 100% happy with the angle so ill have to tinker some more at a later date. Like many light brackets or clamps I found these not to be great quality. It so easy to over tighten them and rip threads. The screw that holds the light level is a joke and I cant get it tight enough. Ill replace it with a better quality one at some stage. I tapped into the high beam using a posi-tap but ill wire it up in the bulb connector at a later date. I covered the posi-tap in silicone just to help keep the elements out for now. It really is just a plug and play system so anyone could wire these up. Its a bit of a cable tie city at the moment but all that is tucked away under the fairings. I also put the dimmer switch under here as I didnt want to add junk to the handle bars. http://stores.advmonster.com/ It took 5 working days for delivery and customs did not charge me for them. 2ho9wfs.jpg

Fitted a bash plate (sump guard) to the Vstrom today

    Before and After;

    381041.jpg

And I think that's the Vstrom more or less finished with big modifications, its only a 650 and I'm starting to feel the weight now ~ so small bits of bling in future

Overall I'm delighted with this little bike :D

All you need to do now is change the headlight bulbs to whiter ones to match the LEDs.

Osram Cool Blue Intense are nice and white and also a briughter bulb than oem.
I have them on both bikes, well worth the money.:)

Joe I have very similar likes on my yoke. Mine are 3500 lumens when in full beam. Crazy bright!!

I have them in the lowest setting normally and when I hit the bikes full beam they go to full beam also.

I am very happy with mine.

Looks like you did a good job and took your time with the wiring which will be worth it in the long run.

P.S the bike looks very well now

Just picked up my first bike the other week!

Fitted a ground anchor (hence the bike living in the hall for two nights!). Then took the top box rack off.

Looking forward to tinkering around with it now before summer

Yeah these are 3600 lumens. Very bright. To be honest I got a few flashes whilst riding home at night. I had them set to 30% brightness so ill turn it right down to lowest settings. Failing that ill adjust the angle also. DO you get flashed at all during darkness?
