oooh the search function is working again so I could find this thread. Quite gusty this morn, didn't see another bike whatsoever on my commute, though that was between 7-8 so possibly early. Wind was okay, but the rain was heavier than I planned for.

Likewise , was very isolating out there with few cyclists about and mainly Dublin bikes towards the end of my commute. Was nice to see some motorists leaving the extra room...

Managed to miss any rain, and the wind was gusty, only got caught out once or twice and even then, not badly. Not too bad is how I'd rate it. But with the amount of wind and storms this winter maybe I'm just getting accustomed...

Nice tailwind through the Phoenix Park and down the quays this morning, though would like to see it subside a bit or turn before it's time to go home!

Can't say I noticed a particular decrease in the number of cyclists over an average day, but at the same time I did notice at least one person who often cycles in our building drove in today. Was dreading the rain when I was getting into the shower at home, but it cleared up quite a bit, and it honestly looks like that was the last squall passing through at this stage.

It's suddenly turned into a beautiful morning. I'm battling a chest infection now myself so took the luas, gave up halfway to work and headed for home, can't sit in the office coughing and barking all day

Hope you don't have the one I have recently finished with. Sounded like my wife was coming down with it this morning too.

Hey wait a minute, what's going on here!

Anyway it was pretty windy when i woke this morning, too windy to cycle i decided. By the time I had finished shower etc. however it had calmed down enough to avoid the luas, ride in was uneventful.

Passed Rock Road counter at number 126 this morning. I am normally about number 270 so a big reduction. Glad now though as its turned into a lovely day and the wind has swung westerly which helps on the way home.

Pretty ropey on the commute in this morning. Traffic also seemed heavier than usual.

I'm just after getting in the DART, the walk to it wasn't as bad as I thought , if I hadn't have had a shower and I probably would have went back for the bike.

On the bus based on checking a few weather warnings and looking on here. Really doesn't seem to bad out though? Coming from South Dublin.

Today was a running day for me, but waking up to howling winds and sleet battering at the window, I drove instead.

    Lovely morning now

Exactly my experience. Plus the wind is due to veer NW this afternoon which would have been welcome.

Typical, look aout the door, not waiting at a bus stop in that weather, always happens. My daughter was worried the luas would be more "jammers" but I let her know that many would just take the car than the risk of having to wait in that weather.

It was fine anytime after 8am in south Dublin, although there was snow up until then in some parts.

Looks like my late commute at 830 was the way to go. It was a lovely cycle in. A bit blustery, but the wind was mostly behind me.

I leave late as well, pleasant morning, slight bite in the air but nothing you would think twice about. Based on weather warnings i stuck a pair of armwarmers on under my jacket, but it turned out they weren't necessary.

If anything this morning was a more pleasant than average cycle in.

Was fairly ok cycling in this morning, strong cross-wind that hit me when going past gaps in the ditch and driveways. Was grand when I got into a built up area. Not too cold.

Seems like parts of Dublin have their own unique weather systems. Here in the north west it was horrible this morning, and bitterly cold because the wind was cutting through you. Still windy out there and very cold.

    Wexford Town area, not Dublin.

But of course. We, on the Southside, have more sunny days per year.

The Sunny South East always has it better than the rest of us :pac:

Opps, mixing my posters up! I'm not Dublin-centric, I swear.

Decided to get the bus this morning. 2 minutes out of the house and turned back to change and cycle in.

Apart from the headwind it was a nice cycle in. Until I punctured.

One of the worst commutes I have had in the wind - headwind, crosswinds, sleet. Had to stop a couple of times on the canal to avoid being blown over.

    Lovely out now, typical.
