If you reserved it at the discounted price yesterday or before they should honor it. I reserved one yesterday, have a reservation number but am waiting on a text to tell me when its in...I don't think I'll ever receive this text

    Where are you based?

A question for you all here... Did anyone reserve one of those TVs and a reservation number was provided, where you were presented with a "available to collect 4th-7th March"?

Ppl were saying that a text comes in when its available - just wondering if anyone received on of these texts. Is Argos normally good about following through on these notifications?

Tried to reserve for the past 3 days and kept saying "can be ordered for collection", but email arrived with no reservation number.

That was happening to me. I posted about it back a few pages of you want to read the thread.

It means that particular store is sold out and will not get them back in at that price. I just tried another store and got a reservation no problem.

Reserved at €439 the other day in blanch. Due to collect today so will update confirming price asked for but in my experience you always get it for the reserved price.

I read somewhere that this tv doesn't play AVI or MKV files from the Pen Drive. Could anyone confirm?

i read this somewhere when i was looking up about the television. Would anyone who has collected one check this out ? My tele in the sitting room can play any format i throw at it !

edit: that was the same place i read it. I am hoping he is wrong ! it would seem strange if those formats are not supported

Also, maybe a silly question , i use chromecast on a telly at home. On a telly such as this, how do you cast stuff to the telly? Same set up really?

The tv supports miracast and widi straight out of the box, no chromecast required.

You can cast over wifi from a laptop or mobile phone as long as they're on the same wifi network as the tv.

There are LG apps that make sending media from your phone/tablet to the tv super easy

The Chromecast takes over the link sent to the TV though, so if you cast a You Tube video to the TV via Chromecast you can still use you phone for other things. My understanding of Miracast is that you're just mirroring your phone screen on your TV, meaning you can't use your phone for something else if it's playing a video. So although they seem to do the same thing they're not technically the same.

I tested Xvid and MKV and both worked . I didn't bother with MP4 and AVI as I assume that they will work.

The tv is for my bro ,so it's back in the box and sealed up.

The whole point of WiDi is that you don't need to be on the same network to cast. You just have to be nearby. Wi Di = WiFi Direct.

The youtube app on Android, and probably IOS has a cast button, that you can cast the video directly onto your smart tv.

You don't need to keep the youtube app open, the cast function basically sets up a playlist on the youtube app on the TV. You can even have multiple people adding things to that playlist at the same time. It's handy for when you have a few people over and want to listen to music

Ok, I'll take your word for it. All out devices are signed into the wifi network at home by default so it's never been an issue for us.

Did you get a text msg from Argos to collect or did you just pop in the store at the date you selected during the reservation process?
