Spin emailing listeners

Has anyone else had any experience in this?

I've seen some Tweets from Spin a few times where they ask for advice for a listener. If I make any comment on it at all, they instantly DM me asking if I am available for a phone call.

I am not a therapist, I do not pretend to be. I am merely a listener myself. I've a very good mind to tell them to hire a bloody psych or something for this segment.

Anyone else every had this experience?

i wouldn't see that as being dissimilar to the various nightly phone shows. My assumption is there are looking for some on air listner reaction and input rather than expecting you to solve the persons problems in some sort of official capacity.

    This.

They just want on-air reaction to the segment and what you would do in the situation. Beat do the same with the Daily Dilemma on their Breakfast show.

I hate those kind of agony aunt-style segments though.

A load of radio stations do that tbh. I've been asked by RED FM, 96FM and Spin SW a couple of times. Harmless enough IMO, thread title made me think they'd been cold-emailing listeners out of the blue, but if they're literally just responding to your interaction then I think that's fair enough.
