Got a full reservation e-mail straight away, along with a text. Second text to confirm in store this morning. Might be because I used the desktop site, didn't someone above mention the mobile site wasn't as efficient with reservations?

Ugh, just received my email now - it says I'll be contacted when it arrives in store...this happened to me before when I reserved something which was a great deal - I never received any further info from them to confirm it arrived in..

I haven't come across a thin TV that has really good sound yet. That's why you see sound bars under most of the display TVs in Powercity, most of the newer TVs need a soundbar or amp to get anything decent from them. That's just down to the way that sound is generated as far as I know, it requires some sort of physical depth.

You shoulda left it in the mega thread. I like to think that punters would be prepared to work ,just a little for a deal:P

BA has always been one of the most community minded forums on the site, so leaving it in situ on the mega thread effectively means far fewer boardsies getting the opportunity to avail of the deal.

I don't get that rationale at all tbh

Yeah I know, i think its daft, would prefer a tv thats an extra cm thicker to have ok sound, than a thinner tv that I need to spend extra money and get a soundbar.

I was looking a TVs in Powercity before Christmas and there was an oldish bloke there looking at a TV with a soundbar underneath it. He happened to mention that he though that the TV was very cheap, that he was expecting them to be much more expensive. I pointed out that he was looking at the price for the soundbar :)

In the Swords branch you can order one in for the €439 and it will be ready for collection between the 5th-7th March on the machines beside the brochures.

They also have a big cardboard advertisement for the tv with the price €589. So expect it to go up to this very soon

Picked one up at Liffey Valley this morning, only reserved at 8.30pm last night and got confirmation this morning. Tried to use TECH10 but no joy. Currently trying to come up with creative ways to make this TV fit on the old TV stand, span of the feet is around two inches too wide :o

This could be a problem for me... How wide is your stand Danny?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,546 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The legs are apparently 33" apart

Put a piece of board or a plank underneath the legs .Just make sure that the plank is one long piece.
A quick fix till you get a wider stand.

Guys, can I use my existing wall bracket with this?
I have a Philips 42" LCD TV from 2006 currently, and hopefully the bars fit the holes??

Can anyone who has actually got this confirm if it really is only 2 HDMI in total ? Is there none at the side ?

In fairness 3 is kind of a minimum at this point :(

    Might have the same problem.
Any quick way to make it work :-)

If you get someone to make up a couple of transition plates from 2mm *Zinc plated steel with hole centres to match your stands and another set of holes 1.5"/2" offset to the side, it'll leave your stand narrow enough for your table.

    * Could also use Stainless steel, no need for painting either.
