Is it typically worth requesting a P21?

I requested a P21 through 'PAYE Anytime' a while ago for 2013 (I only worked for part of the year) and got a significant refund.

I noticed I can still request a P21 for 2012 although I had full employment with seemingly all the credits (I think) included.

I now work in the US. Is it worth submitting the request for 2012, are overpayments typical? I understand there's a risk of underpayment, but I don't even live or work in Ireland anymore.

Was there any gap in your employment? Did you change jobs etc? I have got a refund of some kind for every year I have ever worked.

No, I worked consistently during the year for a large reputable corporation.

Can you not do the calcs yourself and you will then know if you have over or under paid? If overpaid, request the P21. Make sure you have claimed for all medical expenses also.
