I have a small monthly private pension. My tax credit is €2.33 less than my net pay. Am I liable for tax? I am exempt from USC.

And have you other income other than this private pension?

The State Pension for myself and wife.

Assuming you are over 65, you would be exempt on income up to 36000 (this includes the state pension, it's income from all sources)

Thanks for the above info. I am well under the 36k.

Are you claiming all your tax credits? Married person tax credit, PAYE credit, Age credit, etc. Have a look at your tax credit certificate to see if any credits are missing.
