Can't find stock available anywhere and nothing showing on checkargos.com.
Have 42" smart LG for last year but tempted by price of this and increasing in size for living room.

How do you know it has DVB-S?

LG blurb seems to indicate built in Wifi, but not seeing mention of a sat tuner.

Thread in Satellite forum shows details of the model codes. If it ends with V then it should have DVB S2, T2, C tuners built in

    Thats what I'm asking :)

I saw the code mentioned in the argos chat thread & thought I'd ask here if it was possible to use it.

I've got the 43lf590v and it has a sat tuner which was not mentioned in any of the marketing either

It doesn't seem to include the magic remote, which is a must-have on these. The standard remote isn't great. Of course you can search YouTube and Netflix using the all in a device, but for everything else, you really need the magic remote,

Think they're €45-50 separately. I got my tv in Harvey Norman and it was included. Comes with a receiver that plugs into one of the USB ports.

I have the 42 inch smart but didn't bother with the remote. The LG app on Play Store works in a similar way to the magic remote and is free.

You just point the magic remote at the screen, like a Nintendo wii, And it controls my upc box via a virtual remote that comes up on the tv screen.

Need to replace it,was looking at the Samsung ue48j5100 in Power City for 560 cos it has some decent reviews on Amazon. Have chromecast so smart tv doesnt bother me really. Il have a Playstation 3 connected also and just need a decent picture really. Not too up tellys so Id like to know if this is a better tv in your opinions than the Samsung?? Thks for any advice☺

Reserved one of these as soon as I saw the OP. Picked it up from the Dundrum store at 8pm on the way home from Dublin.

Got this as a bedroom set, I'll get around to setting it up properly over the next few days, but I have it up streaming Netflix at the moment, it's some TV for the price.

There's no 3d according to the box and there doesn't seem to be options for it in the settings so I doubt it's 3d, but I could be mistaken. It definitely has a Sat tuner.

    Big thanks to the OP!

I read the reviews on amazon and apparently there is no headphone jack on this tv.

Can do, the box or the tv itself?

<edit> Both are attached, just to be safe.

Amazon deliver that Samsung to ROI for approx. €75 less than the Powercity price above fyi.

The LG is marginally bigger, €40 cheaper again, smart functionality, sat tuner & an additional USB connection. Someone more knowledgeable may be able to tell you the difference between the Sammy's 200 PQI vs the LG's 400Hz, but the manufacturers blurb on such things is often criticised for being a little ambiguous & open to interpretation.

That is a really beautiful box..
But was wondering about the hdmi and usb connections, is there only 2 of each? All at the rear, or any extra at the side?
2 of each seems so few for a 2015 tv model.

EDIT: Yeah found an image of it, it seems to be only 2 of each. So for me Im out. My 1 yr old 42inch will do for a few years..

That's crazy if true. I know on my slightly older model, the headphone jack isn't labelled on the back and actually looks like an optical port as it has a square bit sticking out.

@ Akrasia - have you hooked up the satellite tuner to a dish? Just wondering if this TV is capable of doing proper Freesat with a software upgrade which enables Freesat EPG. I know Freesat version upgrades have been released on LF630 and LF650 models but they may have expanded to other TVs since.
