Your right, lets be under no illusions.... United are rubbish... and we lost to rubbish. I could almost bare losing to Fergies teams but there is just no excuse for this shíte.

Just think, IF we get past Hull in the FA, we might face Man Utd again, where no doubt with a full team they will give us another beating.

Rooney and Martial would have absolutely filled their boots today or Van Persie if he was still around.

But he can console himself with the thoughts of the same shyte next season.

It going to be worse next season, we be dreaming of getting to the dizzy heights of 4th when we're laying in 8th or 9th position. Chelsea and City will be even stronger, Utd with Jose in charge will build a top side. Liverpool will be back in it again and Spuds will be even stronger plus West Ham, Everton and Leicester could give it a go. But what will we get from Wenger "no value" and "the Team is capable of winning the league" with his arrogant grin and knowing he's untouchable. We need to get rid before it becomes worse.

If we don't win the league this year then Ozil would be mad to not leave. Or greedy.

I was hoping Cech would be a leader in the mould of Viera, Keane , Kompany etc but I guess being in goals doesn't really let you give people a kick up the arse.

Lads, I'm as p155ed off as anyone else here tonight, and I'm avoiding posting, but I have to ask this. How come after a comeback win over Leicester there were only a few posts, but after that abysmal display today, the internet night implode with the passion? Are we in love with the negativity? :-)

Honestly though, I am not so annoyed with the shambolic display today as some here are, like it's a surprise... We've been sh1te since Christmas, and haven't been scoring for what seems weeks now!!! We've just been toothless. That's what's thoroughly depressing. We had a great shout at the league this year, with mediocre opposition, and we've gone tits up.

Today wasn't a surprise, it was the cap on a bottle full of ****e of this part of a season!

Well today was our watershed moment for this season. We had to go to Old Trafford and put in at the very least a performance but we reverted to type and failed to show up.

He does shout a bit and does his best but your only as good as whats in front of you. We're lucky to have him. Cant believe i was skeptical about getting him. He is superb. Best we've had in my lifetime of watching the Gunners.

Here is a list of managers we could look at to replace Wenger
    - Marcelo Bielsa
    - Jorge Sampaoli
    - Paco Jemez

I'm sure Someone would be happy to almost double his wages to come to us. €7M a year is attractive enough to draw any manager.

    Allegri? Schmidt? Löw?

Lots of managers out there who can halt our ten-year paralysis.

As will that huge bank balance as long as Kroenke and Co give assurances that it will be made available

Worst feeling ever waking up on a Monday after a defeat.

Where do we go from here.

I think wenger will step aside at the end of the season.

He was going to 2 years ago if we hadn't have won the fa cup final.

He probably thought he still has it and could win one more league. But he doesn't.

Most would not have been able to do much better for much of that period due to the financial constraints. No excuses now though.

    11 games left

11 games for Wenger to finish on s high

But regardless of how it finishes we need to go in another direction

To be honest, the board should be looking at candidates right now so we can make a move asap. But that wont happen. They love Wenger and success on the pitch is not their priority. Wenger will be in charge until he decides to walk away, and that might not be for at least another season.

Yeah I agree with this 100%. There is no way that Wenger will ever be sacked by Arsenal (rightly or wrongly). He is almost too powerful and as ya say the board love Wenger. Guarantees them champions league revenue every season and match day revenue that goes along with it. All this while spending a pittance.

Having read through the last few pages of this thread though, it's telling how much of us were obviously deflated by that performance and how many of us think it's time for Wenger to go. Haven't seen as many people with that thought before, there are usually a lot of people who defend Wenger. Haven't seen anyone really defend on the last few pages.

Ronald De boar? But saying that do you trust the board to appoint the right man. I have no faith anymore in anyone at the club

Its near impossible to defend Wenger at this stage. There have been a few that have said its the players fault and are not putting in the shift to deflect criticism of Wenger. All this does is make him look worse, if he cant get the players motivated for a title shove or a trip to Old Trafford then it really all falls back on him.

yeah Ive had to listen to an awful lot of ****e from them for many years.
they hadnt a clue ..and what was even worse was when the failings were pointed out they still couldnt see it ... most of them clueless.

    Ah Lads

You can still win the PL

Only 5 points off top with 11 games left.

You lost against United because United are currently unpredictable due to injury.

Leicester City and Spurs will drop points.

I dont think Wenger will go at the end of the season. But if he did, I wouldn't be opposed to Koeman getting a look in

As will Arsenal. Its testament to how bad this league is that despite maybe playing well in a handful of games this season we are somehow 5 points off top.

The problem my friend is not mathematical. We are utterly brittle mentally and incapable of performing when the pressure is on. Yesterday while very disappointing was about as predictable as a Tipperary election.

While the performance was terrible and all, I don't think it's fair to point the fingers at Ramsey. He seemed like the only player willing to constantly get on the ball and make something happen. One of the few players who looked interested in getting a result out there.

His parter Coquelin barely acted to try as if he wanted the ball. He never bothered getting away from his marker and that was one of the reasons he was subbed off. We had too many players who were not bothered to make runs such as Walcott, Sanchez and a few others at different stages. We were like the Man United a few months back where they had four players static, beside each defender. Yesterday, we had Sanchez beside Varela, Walcott beside McNair, Özil beside the Blind (with Schneiderlein ahead of him, and Welbeck sometimes stuck to the left back. Ramsey was the only player we had that was transitioning play from defence to attack, and it's not and should not be a one man job.

Or even the Watford manager Flores. Simeone should be number 1 choice though
