chkdsk issues

Running a chkdsk on a mates laptop, and it seems to stick on the following for a while (about two to three days), before it reboots, and tries to do a repair.

I'm guessing it'll need a new repair of Windows, although I'm wondering should I bother installing on the current disk, or should I just my mate to buy a new drive?

Running the chkdsk, as the system repair keeps failing, and/or not repairing the issue. System has been getting to the repair loop after it tried to do some Windows updates.

Did you check the hard disk for problems / failure? Hook the HDD up to another PC or boot up from a live linux usb or something like that with hard disk test programs on it. I find HD Tune to be good.

Truth be told, have been lazy in that regard. Shall take the HDD out tomorrow, and run CrystalDiskInfo.
