Was a Gift from you with nothing wrong with it returned to you by somebody?

    Because they did'nt like you? Or you were too patronising? Or the gift was too tech? Or to basic. Happened to us with a neighbour, we gave them a box of buiscuits but they would'nt accept it. When I was 11 a friend of my mum's gave me a colouring book. We accepted the colouring book. We left the friend. The colouring book was put away and never seen again as I was considered too old by mum for the colouring book. Good friend too.:)

    I paid for dinner for a friend as a gift and later found 50 euro tucked into my handbag. I was a bit insulted actually, as I had made it clear it was a thank you gift.

    Some people instead of refusing gifts take them to be polite, and then give them on or bin them.

    I had someone destroy gifts in front of me in an argument.

    Family.

    Things got a bit too much because the arguments were always started by them, they have paranoia and always thought I was out to get them.

    I cut them off for about two years. Reintroduced them again and only for it to start up again.

    I cut them off. Won't have anything to do with childish, bratty behaviour from an adult. Gave them a chance and i wouldn't again.

    Well I used to buy gifts for all my family - parents, brothers, sisters, their partners and kids.

    Spent a fortune overall, and no one really appreciated it.

    So now I only buy for my wife, kid, godchild.

    They get very good gifts, I spend less and guess what none of the others complain.

    Reminds me of a Gift Teapot given around between Garrett Fitzgerald, Margaret Thatcher, and Charlie Haughey back in the day.

    I gave my next door neighbour a ball. He threw it back to me. I threw it back and then he threw it back again. I threw it back and then he threw it back again. I threw it back and then he threw it back again....and so on. So ungrateful.

    Once invited a group (family) for dinner and they accepted. The day before one rang to ask what was being cooked. It was lasagne. I got s call later to say two of them (adults not kids) didn't really like lasagne so could they bring their own dinner!!!

    I told them to have their own dinner out in a restaurant then. Dinner was cancelled and there have been no dinners since! Saved a fortune as I usually lay on a '3 course meal plus lots booze!
