I think they know its not a child. It's a term of endearment so what.

A term of endearment? It's the person calling themselves mom or dad.

When you see 5/6 cars from any of the Dublin radio stations that have these 'fleets' of cars, all parked in spaces that could be better utilised by real world people.
Even just seeing those cars driving around in convoys is a TA!

Also, those stupid red bull cars.

And banks sending all their IT work to India and destroying Irish careers

Best thing that ever happened the IT industry. Bank systems that actually matter run on AIX/POWER and, occasionally, OS/400 and just clatter away for years with only scheduled maintenance and the occasional spindle failure. IT people in banks and similar had been helping gowl accountants open/save spreadsheets for years. Let the Indians put up with it for a while - they'll get enough of the fuckan thing! :pac:

Yeah, that's what I was thinking myself......

Can't agree with you there. Not all bank IT systems are dumb. A lot of the issues require people with banking experience to rectify. Look at what happened in Ulster bank. There'll be a cataclysmic problem in BOI or AIB soon, and it will take them ages to get the system back up and running, because they've let their experienced people all walk out the door. Even as we speak BOI are struggling to get projects off the ground, because there is nobody left who knows banking or the IT systems well enough

I didn't say they were "dumb", in fact far from it. And if they think having a DBA on-site is expensive, wait until they get a load of IBM Services. ;)

I don't think they actually think they are a mom or dad. Any more than someone calling someone a cutie pie thinks you're made up of flour and eggs and just came out of an oven, or a person referring to their partner as baby thinks they are dating an infant.

Maybe you have an issue with these too though :)

No because in those situations it's a person calling another person/pet a term of endearment. I wasnt being clear in my first post, if someone calls their dog 'baby' I have no issue with. It shows a lovely relationship between a pet and its family. When someone refers to themselves as mom or dad then it is themselves they are referring to. I don't know why it annoys me but it does.

I call them hooker boots. I had a lovely pair but scuffed the toe part on both boots :( . The very first time I wore them I was stopped on the street by this lad who asked me how much my - eh - services were. Little pr1ck thought he was hilarious. The skirt I was wearing was pretty short. I actually think those boots look better over jeans.

I know all I seem to do is post about being ill (recap: had a chest infection and cold last month and another cold this weekend) but since my cold is gone, not only am I left with a dry, red scaly nose, I now have an insanely dry, itchy throat.

Whenever I cough, it feels like someone is slicing my throat open with a knife.
I'm drinking endless cups of Lyons and green tea to soothe it as well as sucking Strepsils and mints. Nothing is soothing it.
    Someone come mind me :(

Celtic shirts. I find them offensive.

Probably due to the general type who wears them mind you.

I seen a woman walking a small dog the other day. the dog was wearing a minature Celtic jersey. I am still rather annoyed and confused by the whole thing.

Pineapple juice is your friend... unless you're allergic to pineapples.

    Right.

I know I shouldn't even bother because you have proved my point in your posts.

One is calling another a pet name, the other is calling yourself something which you are not. Baby is interchangeable. Like you said you could call a partner baby it does not mean they are your baby.

This is snot a thread to prove points. It's a thread for your trivial annoyances. For example, some people would be annoyed that I typed snot instead of not.

And if you move away slightly to create a bit of distance they move right along with you so that they are still right behind you.

I once told a person in the queue behind me, using a very squeaky voice, 'You're squishing my bubble!'. Worked like a treat. :D

Needed a euro to get a trolley earlier but of course I didn't have one. Super annoying.

When the TV freezes right when something good is happening.

Being permanently cold no matter where I am.

Having to feign interest in a boring story someone is telling me.

Forgetting my laptop for school so having a day where we couldn't play games/use software. The kids wouldn't stop asking could they watch Horrid Henry or play a game!

    Such a day of TA's.

Do you have one of those magic UPC remotes too? Want to go to channel 114 so press '1', '1', '4' and end up on the RTE Player

Hit 402 for Sky Sports and you go straight to UPC Customer Channel on 100

Fúcking remote does my head in!

People who eat their breakfast in work. Does no one eat breakfast at home anymore? Those that have to be out the door at the crack of dawn fair enough...but a 30 min journey and you havent time to get your backside out of the scratcher earlier to have breakfast at home?

That 7 Years Old song...a 20 something fecker singing about how '...Soon I'll be 60'....seriously...f*ck off!!

Thats all for the moment :o
