I wonder how many of the 94,000 are just people who leave today fm on all day. If I knew for sure that there was better on elsewhere I would switch in a heartbeat.

The same reason no other presenter from the country can.

And yes I did see what you did there and I thank you.

Irish people seem to have an issue pronouncing the letter g at the end of ing.

I like the way she speaks I know it's not correct but I like it . She puts no T in words like little either so it's kinda li ill but I like that too .

So are you saying all presenters outside Dublin can't speak correctly? Or that they don't

In reality no one really days the g anymore in those doing words we use everyday, especially in a conversational tone. It's not exactly an essential part of the word.

Ahh, you noticed it too, "li ill", but she says that word so often it's hard not to, "a li ill bit of" before and after a song, then, the "like, actually, literally" turned her off on my drive to work in the mornings, it done my head in,
I like Paula, playing now, good music doesn't say them words all the time and a durty laugh..

Does that include people from Dublin, or just "Irish" people?

This song gets overplayed on Louises show

The advertising for this show is getting more and more desperate. The bosses must really want her to succeed instead of just binning her.

Was thinking that alright. The tv ads alone must be setting them back.

Every afternoon I'm back in the office and this show is on. Same songs every day with the odd different one to make it seem like theres some variety. The 'craic' herself and the other girl on the show attempt to have is the bloody pits as well.

    Desperate stuff altogether.

Louise Duffy and Ann Gleeson......... absolutely painful to listen to when they're "being funny" together.

With such classic pieces as "Lovebag"... jesus suffering **** it's bad.

Will leahy would be perfect for this slot

They have accents. Like most people.

Well the slot wouldn't be perfect for him because he is in court at 2.30 in the afternoon and Marconi House is a long drive from Limerick.

She is playing that Brian Deady song to death my good god make it stop. I don't mind her, not hugely talented but you'd listen away.

Her segment " why my child threw tantrum today" was the least original thing I've ever heard. Pretty sure the daily edge had a article exactly like it a fews back.

She only has about 5 or 6 topics she goes through and just words them differently each day. Except yesterday when the topic was humble brags and I've definitely heard her do that exact one before.

Maybe her bosses need to realise that it's not a lack of advertising but the sh1t she churns out every day that's resulting in so few listeners.

    She's woeful.

Not solely her fault, but am I the only one who thinks the playlist on RTE has gone from bad to irredeemable?

I wonder is it a case of station management at TodayFM knowing full well that Louise isn't right for the job, but they've gone this far and can't back out just yet, in what I view to be a somewhat similar situation at RTE (television) where Ray D'Arcy show will be back for second season despite it being awful.

I think their hands are competently tied, just think about the lack of women already on primetime radio (Just look at Alison Curtis twitter feed if you don't believe me)
Can you imagine the uproar if they pulled her and replaced her with a man.
    Bra's would be burned.
They need a legitimate reason to move her on so with her recently getting married I'd say their only hope is if she gets pregnant.

So unfortunately we're looking at at least another 9 months of inadequate radio.

Wow could you be any more sexist ? Today FM seem to value her and are rolling in behind her with a focused advertising campaign. To suggest they are keeping her on the air because of a self imposed gender quota is disingenuous speculation at the very least and an example of gross misogyny at worst. Then to suggest Today FM are praying their problem goes away when Louise gets herself pregnant is quite frankly appalling and is one of the reasons why we still need to recognise International Women's Day in 2016.
As far as Alison Curtis twitter feed is concerned she has highlighted a genuine grievance. How many female presenters are on air in Dublin between 7 am and 7 pm weekdays ? FM104 none, 98fm none, Q102 none, 4FM none, TXFM 1, Sunshine 1, Today FM 1, Radio One 1, 2FM 3

FYI I'm not sexist but I can see how you could read into my post like that.

Anyway where you see them rowing in behind her with a focused advertising campaign most other people see as a last ditch effort to get her listenership up,
I'm sure you remember the other advertising campaign for her show around 18 months ago where she was portrayed as a bitch?
Well that didn't work out too well.
And your numbers only strengthen my theory, Today FM don't want to be seen as being in the stone age and their main competition is 2fm so they certainly don't want to go to zero primetime presenters compared to their 3.

Today FM seems to me like a lovely place to work where they put their employees before figures which is why they basically gave The Late great Tony Fentons slot to his stand in and why they gave Darcys slot to his stand in, you could also just put this down to laziness but I think they are actually nice employers, it's no coincidence though that those two shows are the ones haemorrhaging listeners.
I don't recall anyone in Today FM ever being axed or shafted.
They need to toughen up because there's no time for sentiment in the radio business.
Neither Louise or Anton are capable of anything but filling in for a few weeks at a time.

Fair enough but I would agree that it seems like they are one big Today FM family, it certainly comes across that way, but I think the main issue with louise's show is that they are over complicating it. At that time of the afternoon the 3pm slump have kicked in and I think people just want music and as little faffing around as possible. I'd ditch the interviews with the live acts, because more often than not the interviews arent interesting, the musicians are just going to the motions, not the hosts fault mind you. I'd also ditch the good week bad week stuff and asking listeners to text in about the funny topic of the day, just keep it simple and do what Tony did, and play the hits because by comparison, it seemed to work.

I would disagree totally about Anton, he's one of the best broadcasters anywhere, perhaps Darcy's listeners followed him to RTE, but Anton based on his skillset as a broadcaster is an infinitely better presenter and deserves a higher listenership.

I'm with heybaby on this one, I think Anton is a really good broadcaster.
