Any idea lads? Do the courier companies do this for a reasonable price? Phoned DPD but she didn't know what she was on about really.

Try the guys at ParcelDirect ie. very cheap and you can book online

Is this for the GTD? I understand Parcel Motel offer a service for items deemed too big or heavy, they can deliver to your home for an additional fee.

Yeah, had a kerbing incident already, getting fixed but wouldn't mind having a backup. Thanks for the advice

You can also collect at the depot if overweight. I collected an alloy/tyre today with no problems

Couriers are reasonable. If you have to use DPD ask the seller to organise a pick up as its cheaper and the lads in the Portadown depot are usually careful with merchandise, until it transfers to another depot....

I did the same on my new golf. As a matter of interest who did you buy the alloy from? Also who did you get to carry out the repair? I'm using Leo Whelan seems to come highly recommended.

I got a price from Blackwater for a new alloy....looking for €560 + VAT and no tire with that either. Certainly not paying that much.

The GTD diamond cut ones are 750+ vat. Horrific. Only a few people can do the diamond cutting nobody in cork so I'm trying a guy in dublin. That wheel in the north was actually cracked before so i'll leave it. Theres one on eBay UK I can get if the refurb doesn't go well.

I use wiseloads.com when sending anything big, 12 quid delivered, they use dpd to do the work.
