watched the highlights on player again just now. Jaysus Ollies assist was just superb. Ozil should have had a few assists himself but for some bad finishing and Ramsey was frustrating, again

I was just so delighted for the team but especially DW and NM after giving away the penalty.

Ex ref Dermot Gallagher on sky gave his verdict on big decisions.

Interesting despite agreeing with Vardy peno he said Mahrez no peno and both yellow cards for Simpson were correct. Also said drinkwater was clear obvious red card.

Not quite the Arsenal bias some have ranted about then....

Can I just say having gone around to a few teams forums (on different sites not this one), including a couple of Barca forums, every single person has given us zero chance in the champions league tie. Not just that, but frankly saying we're going to be destroyed and laughing at the possibility of us getting a result.

We you know what? They're probably right. But I sure as hell want to see them proven wrong. Start our best 11 and give them hell. If we get beat fine. But we better make sure they aren't laughing when all is said and done.

Yeah everyone seems to assume we're gonna get an absolute spanking. They're probably not wrong but I really hope we at least have a go at them the way we did bayern at home.

He's not a referee now though.
He's getting a nice wage from Sky.
I do believe that there are certain referees with a bias against Arsenal.

Why would they have a bias against Arsenal? What could Arsenal football club have done to them? I'd say if there was a stat of 50/50 decisions going the way of X team over a few seasons the results would be fairly balanced.

Football still has an issue with big decisions affecting a game. I know controversy is great for the game, but there's so much money involved now that wrong decisions also have an economic impact.

There's no reason why the 4th official can't be like the TMO in rugby. Viewing stuff in real time, letting the ref know if he missed something, or doing a quick assessment before a match-defining red card is given. The speed of the game is hardly affected, as a lot of this stuff is done on the fly as the match is in play.

It's still not a perfect system, and there will still be controversy. You just don't want incorrect ref's decisions deciding a match. Just imagine if Costa had been red carded in our first match against Chelsea, and we played the bulk of that match 11 v 10?

Yeah, I know.....we still would have found a way to lose :D

It's interesting, but I don't feel that it tells the full story.

I always think that Arsenal only get last minute goals when we're either losing by 2+ goals or winning by 1+ goals ourselves. Makes todays goal even more special from me.

Purely anecdotal, and I've zero stats to back this up, but I'd say Man United have the most points won by last minute goals than any other team, way more than Arsenal. Funny that we get a Man United player and he starts getting last minute goals.

Apparently now Arsenal have won 21 games through last minute goals. That's 2nd behind Liverpool on 27. (In the EPL era)

That's the way it has to go. If ref is unsure of something, he should be able to refer to the 4th official.

I see Arsenal posted on twitter yesterday that Welbecks goal was our 100th in time added on, the first club to reach that mark. Funny I seem to remember conceding more last minute goals them scoring

The ones that come in games where you're comfortable are easily forgotten.

Although very soft I think it was a penalty, he left his leg out and it was nowhere near the ball. Just glad we won

We won 1 game in 17 under Mike Dean in a period of four years, during the period he made a host of baffling decisions against us.

Guess who's the ref for our game against Hull

It's a shame to see a player as good as cavani stuck on the bench. Love to stick in a bid for him in the summer

Im not so sure he is all that tbh. On a massive salary. Flattered to deceive the last world cup. And why isnt he getting his game at PSG if he is so good?

It used to annoy me when Graham Poll used to analyse referee decisions. Granted its not an easy job especially in the foul mouthed EPL but he seem to forget he gave a yellow card THREE times to the one player

    This I really enjoyed...

Especially the rant at Leicester... The foul mouthed rant! Superb!!! It's an hour long, but great to relive the game listening to fellow Gunners!

Cavani is a superb player I think he's under rated because he's in Zlatans shadow.

He also won me a handy few quid tonight ;)

He misses lots of chances but he makes life easier for his fellow forwards with his high energy game. Drives defenders to distraction

Never understood why people thought we could get Cavani, PSG were never gonna let him go with Ibra at his age.
