Google Nexus 7 repair.

    I have 3 Nexus 7 tablets here with faulty charging ports.
    No time to repair them myself so looking for recommendations on where in Ireland I can send these to have the ports replaced with new ones.
    Am based near Birr (Offaly) but can post them anywhere in Ireland.

    Get QI chargers if its the newer Nexus?

    They're all a couple of years old.
    Tablet itself is in good working order.
    The charger connectors can be replaced with a bit of soldering but I have neither the time nor the inclination to do it myself.
    Much rather pay a pro.

    Having worked in phone repair for a few years,its not a solder job anymore, they just swap out the port these days, see the videos below...

    If its the older model its fairly easy :

    I'd say any Chinese shop around town should point you in the right direction....

    My lad has this issue on his 2013 Nexus and he got a QI charger (wireless charger mat) and charges it that way now as opposed to go getting his fixed.... :)

    Think it was 3 euro delivered from China.... :)

    Excellent tips.
    Just trying to figure out now how to determine if the ones I have are Qi enabled...

    As above, you don't need a soldering iron to replace them, I've done it myself. The most important thing to have is the correct sized screw drivers, as it's a right pain in the ass otherwise.
