for a paye worker who has (for example) the following tax credits listed on their online ros.ie profile:

2012 - paye tax credit, personal tax credit
    2013 - personal tax credit
2014 - paye tax credit, personal tax credit

what would cause there to be no paye tax credits for 2013? assume in full time employment for the full 2013 year and did not change jobs in 2013.

is this likely to cause any issues with the net pay received? would this make someone overpay or underpay tax?

    thanks

Lack of the paye tax credit would lead to lower net pay . Just contact revenue to get it fixed

Another issue there may be that the PAYE tax credit wasn't required.

Tax Credits are restricted to tax due. So if you only needed part of the Personal tax credit, the PAYE tax credit won't appear on your statement. Example

Income for the year is €5000

    5000 @ 20% = 1000

Less Personal Cr 1000 (ususally 1650, but restricted to tax due)

Tax Payable therefore is NIL. No need for a PAYE Credit to be allocated.

    Hope this makes sense
