Although we were terrible against the saints I thought we made enough chances to win except for some amazing saves from their keeper.

Didn't see the game yesterday but glad we won.

We were dire, but we didn't deserve to lose. I'm ordering you a white stick sir!

you mean yesterday, we should have lost ? If Flamini had been sent off things might have been different, but we scored 2 excellent goals then more or less shut up shop and let Bournemouth come on to us. We defended well and Cech only had to make 3 saves, 2 of which were a double right at the end (great saves though)

Was just looking at Giroud's stats from yesterday and then the rest of the team in general.

By the way, now is a good time to look away if you are still feeling positive after yesterday.

Giroud only received 11 passes in the final third yesterday, two in the box, one of which became the assist for Ozil.

Sanchez received 38 passes in the final third yesterday, three in the box. Approx half of those passes seem to have been on the wing, not in a particularly dangerous area.

Overall, we only had 5 shots on target of 10 taken and 8 successful passes in the box and 1 successful cross (we had 98 out of 144 successful passes in the final third in total).

I know it's great to get the win, and in a way that's all that matters, but those type of stats are worrying considering the opposition.

I dunno if I'd worry too much about all that, we never really looked like conceding many, our defence was fairly decent imo. Afobe didn't get much service either which I suppose complimented us.

I'd happily take a performance like yesterdays every weekend to be honest, as long as it won us the league!

My only real problem defensively was that at one stage we had Gibbs, Coq and Flamini on the pitch, and they still went straight through the middle.

Absolute load of rubbish. There's loads of media out there with loads of professional footballers joking around in interviews, big deal.

He needs to step up, and so does Theo. That's about the only thing he said that I agree with. Anyone can see that though.

    I agree with him.
Ox is always clowning. Saw him in the tunnel before the Southampton match dancing and messing and no way focused on the game.
He's 5 years at the club and has not been progressing the way he should at all.

Dont agree at all, this dancing around thing was such rubbish, every player gets ready for a match their own way, and if he wants to dance around and get pumped up, i think that's fine. He didnt even start that game either. I've been one of his harshest critics this year (said i wanted him no where near the team)
but i agree with Basil3 "He needs to step up, and so does Theo. That's about the only thing he said that I agree with"

Theo is much more concerning in my opinion

I'd have him doing extra training and he'd either make the grade or be gone.

Who knows what he's like with his training? He might already do double training.

Whenever I've seen him in a post match interview, he has spoken really well, no silly buggers. If anything, I think he's too serious on the pitch, trying too hard and letting mistakes get to him. I would prefer he tried to relax and enjoy it more.

The way you're talking you'd swear youve never seen him up front before. He looked nothing but dangerous playing striker. Has shown he can score from a half chance (goal against city, although he was playing on the wing), he created a lot of chances and really complimented Alexis and Ozil quite well imo.

He's far better suited to some games than Giroud would be and vice versa.

Ive seen enough of him to form the opinion that he is not good enough to make the grade as a striker, the comparisons years ago with Henry were truely insulting to the great man. The thing about Walcott and alot like this Arsenal side is that he will throw in one superb performance in every 6 or 7 games and be mediocre in the others, very frustrating it is. Giroud is a fantastic centre forward and has done excellent for us even tho I dont think he suits our style of play.

Imagine having somebody up front like Henry or Anelka at there peak with Ozil supplying them  Its exactly the type of striker we need, pace and deadly finisher.

Hopefully that goal yesterday will give him a bit more confidence, he seems a good kid. Personally I think he would be much better in a more central midfield role.

Well if he's doing double training it's not working.
Wenger dropped him 2 years ago after his lazy performance against Swansea when he stood in the middle of the pitch after being dispossessed and his man ran on and set up a goal. Check You Tube for some of his antics. I thought this lad was going to be a legend for Arsenal at one stage but he's made little or no progress despite clearly having talent.

Agreed. He actually has good vision and can play a decent through ball. I think Campbell is much the same.

Has done very little in all his years at the club. I don't see any improvement.

That's the real issue. Messi can go out on the pull with Adam Johnson and nobody would say a thing

Ox is the most disappointing player at the club.

    I don't.
But when I see the likes of Campbell willing to run himself into the ground to try and keep his place at the club and compare him to Ox then there's no comparison. I thought young Gnabry was making more progress than Ox and he was shipped out on loan.

Is Gnabry injured or something? He's basically after missing the whole season due to that joke of a loan move. I know I've posted about this before but it's been a while since then and I'd have thought he'd have seen at least a few more appearances since then but apparently not.

Is he still on loan at all? Hearing nothing about him lately despite the hype around him a couple of years ago.

He has his moments. Yesterday showed 2 pieces of magic. His through ball to Ozil that was eye of a needle, nearly perfectly weighted, and his goal. Sadly for him, it's the only 2 pieces of brilliance he's shown all season in the same game! He really has stood still.

As for Gnabry, he has less chance of developing with us and needs regular games at this age especially. Something he's not going to get with us. I'd imagine Ox will be moved on sooner rather than later mind you.

I would still say the Ox is the best player we have in the club as far as beating a man on the outside. He's only 22, I can't really see him going anywhere.

He was the most promising when he arrived i'll grant you that but something happened to his confidence or else he's become too lazy.

Isnt he homegrown? He wont be sold.

Came from Southampton when he was 16. Just like Theo.

Yeah I've been disappointed as has most, with the Ox this season. He has probably had more opportunities to play and get a spot cemented in the team, than he has had in his whole Arsenal career starts far.
Didn't think he was only 22 though, so he does still have time on his side. Thierry Henry was 22 when he joined Arsenal and just exploded from then on. I'm not saying he's gonna be half the player the King was, but goes to show he can still develop into a quality player with his talent. As has been said above, I'd be more worried about Walcott, seeing how he's in his peak years now.

Interesting stat on motd yesterday about the Ox, 99 apps for the club and he's only played the full 90 minutes in 9 games ever. Also I think that was his first ever premiership goal away from the emirates.

And Wenger would rather he had hamstrings

The arseblog lads had a good podcast covering everything from Ox, to Theo to Tomas Rosicky coming on last game of the season to score the title winning goal. Always a good listen if you have the time.
