The amount of chances we created yet missed would disprove the theory that our midfield was poor though. Not scoring is our main problem at the minute.

I also have questions regarding some of the goals our defence conceded but missing easy scoring opportunities has been our main problem of late.

Our problem is that from the very start of the season, it was known that we needed goals coming from our midfield and front 3. It just ain't happening.

True but the chances are being created. Ten on target the other night and none taken. We've seen it often before. You can bet your life that had we an Aguero, RVP, Costa or Suarez we would have scored.

An interesting thing is that in some of our best performances this season, Walcott has played as striker, and Giroud has been a great impact player when needed.

Even though there's nothing wrong with Giroud's play right now, maybe we need to try Walcott up top for a couple of matches.

    When? What?

Buy a player who starts when we have injuries and at least makes the bench when we don't. What was the point in signing Elneny when he can't make the bench even with Wilshere and Rosicky out?

It happens all strikers that they have a period each season where the goals dry up for a short time... It just so happens that all our players are going through it at the same time!!!!! We need to get out of this rut and quick. Spurs, City, Leicester and even Utd are all on good form now and improving, we could well finish outside the top 4. However, if we do turn it around, the league title could well be ours! That's why I think the next 2/3 games are make or break time!

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Highly plausible though :p

According to physioroom we only have 3 injuries, Rosicky, Wilshere and Santi.

So if Eleney isn't at least on the bench on Sunday it would be completely baffling.

Attitudes like that don't lead to winning stuff.

    Selective quoting there.

Being top and getting the odd draw when you're unlucky is exactly what leads to titles.

Not scoring for 3 games is what doesn't.

Should be making two big signings every Summer in my opinion, like very other big club with ambitions does.

Working well for Utd and Pool lately that one, isn't it?

We should be doing what suits us, not following stupid rules like the above. It did Chelsea no good last summer either.

Not saying I wouldn't appreciate improvement to the squad, but if it were as simple as the above we wouldn't need a manager.

I think they've been watching many other seasons which seems to be their point.

I agree fully with this. With no real competition coming in for places some players start becoming complacent because they know there place isnt under any real threat.

Totally off the point but was on facebook earlier on and one of those memories popped up on me page. This time 2 seasons ago we were sitting on 55 points after 24 games. Thats a full 10 points more than were we stand today. :pac:

Lets be honest. This isnt a player we have signed from a top league for big money. He has come from Switzerland with a price tag of just 7 million pounds. Thats a pittance in todays market. He was bought as more of a squad player imo and if he improves its a bonus.

Still cost a lot more than Flamini :pac:

The price for Higuain was upped by 5m at the last minute, which is why Arsenal walked away. As for Suarez even if we offered 70m Liverpool would never have sold to us

I hate to keep saying it but how long has Wenger had to build a title winning team?

Then look at spurs and Leicester ahead of us.

The thing is we should be buying better than we already have. That improves the team.
The time for buying "maybe great in time" players or "fill-in" players is gone if we have ambitions to win the EPL.

3 years I guess, since financial restraints were removed a bit.

Spurs have blown all that Bale money, and are playing well at the moment. Considering how amazing they are, and how rubbish we are, it's amazing we're on the same points.

Fair play to Leicester, great story. They're one of the many reasons people watch football.

Exactly the point I am trying to make. There is far too many players too comfortable with there position in the starting XI. Players are becoming too complacent and inconsistent.

I wouldn't agree with that entirely. How many people are comfortable, complacent, and inconsistent?

Our only nailed on starters have been Kos, Monreal, Bellerin, Ozil, Giroud and maybe Ramsey. I can see how a few of them haven't been playing well, but I doubt that's because they think their place isn't under threat.

Looking from another angle, look at the players trying to break into the starting line up, such as Walcott and the Ox. They should be the complete opposite, super motivated to earn their spot...and look what happens.

They're not title winning teams yet so can't really use those 2 to make your point

Ramsey has been very average this season imo, along with Mertesacker. Mertesacker especially with his positioning and lack of pace gets us into huge trouble at the back, most notably against Chelsea when he got the wrong side of Costa and was sent off for a rash tackle. If that happened at the back with the likes of Adams, Keown, Campbell there would be an onfield enquiry into how he was caught out like that.

Would definitely agree they're two of the most popular scapegoats.

I can actually remember quite a few more errors from Kos than Mert recently. The Chelsea incident was idiotic, though.

The number crunchers disagree, even the spurs supporting ones.

    It doesn't matter.

    The table doesn't lie.

We are 4th and behind spurs and Leicester for a reason.
