    Hi,

I recently booked a flight from Dublin to LAX with Expedia. The outbound journey is with BA from Dublin to London Heathrow and then Virgin to LAX.

I assumed that bags checked in Dublin would make it to LA without needed to be re-checked in at LHR but not according to a conversation i had with Expedia! Apparently its at the discretion of the check in desk in Dublin whether they will check the bags all the way through. I only have a 2hr stopover in London and rechecking the bags in that time would be impossible id imagine!?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this?

    Thanks

Should be fine as it is booked as one reservation. BA and Virgin have luggage agreements in place

    Thanks for the reply!

I booked it as one flight and have 1 e-ticket number each. On the booking though i have a booking ref for BA and one for Virgin!?

Perfectly normal. BA and Virgin use completely different reservation systems, so each will have a different booking reference to find your booking on their system.
