In process of applying for mortgage and still waiting on p60 from work. Been told that it will be beginning of march when available as the filing date is 23rd Feb.

Don't know what filing date means?

Is this normal or can I demand to receive it prior to that.

employer has until 15th Feb (not the 23rd) to submit (file) the company details across to Revenue. Employer should give you your P60 by then at latest. However, many companies don't have them ready on time and are late giving them out. contact your payroll office and ask them to follow their obligations under revenue guidelines.

    11. Certificates to employees (form P60)
(See sample form P60 template in Sample Forms)

Between 1 January and 15 February the employer must give to every employee who was in their employment on 31 December, a certificate on form P60 showing Total Pay, Tax and PRSI contributions for the year ended on 31 December. These figures should be copied from the payroll record.

It's 23rd of Feb if the employer is filing online - a route which Revenue have pushed most employers to.

I know the 23rd is date for other filings, but are you sure its valid for P35s as well? their helpdesk confirmed only last monday to me that 15th is the date even for online for P35s

Would your current P60 not do?

Deadline is definitely 23rd, but there is no need or indeed no point in waiting until 23rd to file. Employers would be better serving employees by filing earlier and issuing P60s now.

That's the filing deadline for the P35 but the deadline for providing employees with their P60s is still the 15th, no?

I think P60s are due by the 15th at the latest.

"The extended P35 filing date for ROS customers who pay & file electronically is 23rd February."

Does that mean if they aren't filing then until last minute that they won't be able to issue form to me before then?
Do you know if it would be possible to issue my one separately before all the others. We're quite a small company with 25 employees. Want to have an idea before I put more pressure on them as it will only delay my mortgage application.

I tend not to issue the P60's until the P35 is submitted - just in case there are any changes, eg the client admits he has paid Mr x a bit extra cash than what was going through the payroll each month. Or a director wants to put through extra salary etc.
But in experience if an employee needs the P60 for a good reason eg mortgage, medical card application etc, that once discussed and agreed that their wages on the system are correct, a P60 can be issued. The only problem is that other employees may see a P60 issued and want theirs also!

OP does your employer do the payroll themselves or outsource it?

    This email from revenue yesterday:

    ''ROS reminder to file.

It is now time to file your latest P35 return. This return and payment must be filed on or before 15/02/2016.

If you both pay and file your return using ROS services the due date for your payment and return will be extended to 23/02/2016.''
