anyone have an engine hoist- worth it

am half thinking of buying this engine hoist. feel it would be handy for lifting heavier items and moving them around the place. using the loader isn't always ideal for every job.

any one have one, how do you find them?

Don't have one of them but I brought a chain block off eBay for under 50 euro a few years back and have found it handy for a lot of jobs.
Lifting engines cows slats and big fertiliser bags.

Got a loan of one to do the brakes on the tractor and they are a great job, no stress with them and they can be bought cheap enough. You might only use it once a year but it's nice to know it's there when you need it.

The wheels are much too small if the floor is anything more than glass like finish. Brother borrowed one to change out engine in Escort and on a regular floor it was hard to move and in danger of tipping over if pushed about too much.
10mm pebble would stop it in it dead !!

Very handy, Just give some thought to the fact that you need to get the legs either under or beside the object you are lifting unlike the loader. Slinging a large bag of fertilizer or slinging a loaded pallet of the floor might not work

Very true needs to be used on a good surface

Great job for half axles wen doin brakes or such,id recommend one anyhow..
