Windows needs to install new drivers for every single piece of hardware you change

    Lads quick question

I have a VPN running on my Mac (using the inbuilt VPN service) I have a Virtual box running windows on the same Mac.

Why does VPN only work on the Mac and not the windows VM too. I have the network settings on the Virtual box set to bridge adaptor

Jesus, thats a bit of overkill. My work has a 10gig proxy link for around 35k people spread over multiple sites.

All the other colleges in the city connect via TCD, thats at least 80k users ;)

Yeah but it was still mostly working for me up until this afternoon but the view is completely ****ed now, looks like a badly coded mobile website opened on a desktop on both my computer and my phone at the moment.

Lads, another noob question, when connecting a mixamp to a sound card, does the optical cable go in the optical in or optical out port?

I had a dream the other night my girlfriend bought me a Fury X :D

Are you sending sound to or from the computer?

So, I just bought one of these things.

    pdt_22189.png.ashx?width=450&height=350

    All I can say is:

    JESUS FÚCKING CHRIST

Creative really got their **** together. This thing absolutely blows the sound card I was using (Auzentech Forte) out of the water. There's just no comparison.

Creative. Creative, the company that... I mean ****, it's CREATIVE. But seriously, they've released an amazing product with very light, functional, bug-free software, and the whole thing is just good.

(For reference, it's driving two Dali Zensor 1s)

Tried it with any studio/faux-studio cans?

Looks like the Korean's are already knocking out 34" monitors. I assume these are B grade LG panels that don't quite make minimum quality control set for named brands like Dell.

The lg version is about 130-140 euro more on amazon. Not sure if it worth between likely getting caught for tax, and any potential warrenty issues down the line. Would love one though, but as a minimum would need a new highend graphics card and likely a power supply as well!

Check out TekSyndicates review, they're pretty damn happy with theirs all things considered.

    as well!

Very true, customs can be a gamble as well. The Mrs. ordered 3 pairs of shoes from the stastes latley-customs & shipping cost more than the shoes :)

Have my eye on the Asus PG348Q, the amount of issues people are having with the X34 makes me nervous though; that and the small matter of €1100 delivered (ex-vat) is a lot of cash for a monitor.

Was it the X34 that Headshot had to keep sending back over and over?

Just my usual ones - Sennheiser HD595s and Beyerdynamic DT990 Premiums. Both sound quite a bit fuller, but the 990's really shine. The mids were a little lacking with my last card, they're a little more evened out now.

    Nice!

Oh, and as you'd expect, this thing will drive 600Ω headphones with ease. Much louder than my Auzentech did, actually. The Forte was what I'd call "loud-ish, but still reasonable" at max. This one goes right into "who in their right mind..." territory.

What's the sweet spot on monitors these days btw? I'm giving some thought to picking up a new one and I haven't looked seriously in 5 to 6 years.

Here's a Dell U3415W - Curved, 21:9, 3440 x 1440p, for about €750 delivered from Germany. I got luck when I bought my Qnix, only had to pay about €15 to customs iirc. I wouldn't take the chance on it though compared to picking up this Dell for €50 more. I hope to order one myself in the next few weeks if I can come up with a way of hiding it from the Mrs! ;P

Yea, we have a good rule of thumb in this house-I don'r ask what she spends on clothes & shoes, she doesn't ask what I spend on PC stuff :D

On the Dell U3415W - love mine but:

MiniDP was a pain in the arse (porn pun not intended) - might have been the cable
DP slightly less of a pain but wont run properly on DP 1.2 has to be set to DP 1.1 - be aware of this and have a google before setting it up.
One of the USB ports alluded me for weeks :pac:

    Overclocks nicely to 75Hz
    Looks freaking Awesome.

Case finally arrived. Still waiting on the new SSD and PSU, but no reason I couldn't build the rest of it! Thanks to the very nice case organisation it'll be really easy to slip both in with minimal mess. I'll get some proper pics once it's running :)

Some of the L0 cache on my intel i5 2500K is borked.
(ICACHEL0_IRD_ERR) in the Memory.DMP (memory dumps and kernal dumps are amazing)

Meaning I have to disable 3 cores to get the thing to boot. Wish I could just disable the one which is giving me errors but my asrock p67 pro3 just has a disable 1,2,3 core option , and only 3 works :/

First time I've had a processor flake on me, and I'd be a pretty aggressive overclocker.

    What are other peoples experiences?

edit:: Just Ran intels processor Diagnostic Toolkit and the CPU passed.

Now thinking it could be a voltage regulator on the motherboard. Or the PSU.
