hi,

i get 2k untaxed as part of my salary, its down as day allowance. im just wondering whats the equivalent of that in salary before tax?

Depends on your total income and allowances. ~4k for a higher rate tax payer, ~2600 for a lower rate tax payer. May be even lower depending on USC bands
