I'm after getting an amber check engine light on my golf mk 5 petrol. I came to the end of my journey with no problems, pulled in and now im having trouble getting the car started, although it starts after a couple of seconds with hesistation. Theres a second amber light for bulb light failure coming up as well, any ideas what this could be? Sparkplugs maybe?

Would I be mad to drive it from Dulin to Galway to my own mechanic?
If so, can anyone recommend a cheap VW indy in South Dublin?

Did you check the oil level?

Oil levels seem to be fine, its actually starting now without any hesitation, although the engine sounds a bit weak at idle, like it could cut out and both warning lights are still there

When driving, does the car feel sluggish, like it's not going as fast as it should? If so, the coils might need to be replaced. Happened to my mk5 few months ago.
