1.7 crdi engine oil consumption

    Just wondering what the expected oil consumption for this engine should be. Would 1L per 20000km be excessive?

    Just to be sure this isn't a typo, we're saying one litre of oil per twenty thousand kilometers? No, that's sod-all.

    Yes, 1L per 20000km. Car has just 37500 km at the moment so not sure what to expect from a new diesel engine wrt oil consumption.

    Well, most manufacturers these days will tell you that a litre every thousand miles or so is quite normal, so I'd be glad with what you have! :pac:

    Nope, would expect around circa 5tlr use after 20k. As in an oil change.

    This is my first diesel car so wasn't sure what to expect. Any petrol cars we've owned used practically no oil between changes.

    Its going in for its second service next week and I was going to ask what is normal but wanted to double check.
