Title says it all really. I know that when a government body is putting a contract out to tender they must have it on eTenders for a minimum amount of time.

Does the same apply for regular full-time positions in a civil service body, can they just put it up on a Monday and have the closing date be a Friday?

    Not that I'm aware of.

CPSA has a document "CODE OF PRACTICE APPOINTMENT TO POSITIONS IN THE CIVIL SERVICE AND PUBLIC SERVICE" here:
    http://www.cpsa.ie/en/About-Us/What-we-do/Setting-Recruitment-Standards/Code-of-Practice-for-Appointment-to-Positions-in-the-Civil-Service-and-Public-Service-.pdf

    On pg 18, it says:
    Marketing
•All marketing and supporting materials are
accessible, free from bias and reflect, where
    appropriate, the job and person
    specifications and assessment process that
    will be followed.

    •Clear, concise and effective marketing
designed to target an appropriate applicant
field is communicated openly to afford
    equality of opportunity.

    •Marketing approaches ensure that
recruitment is from the widest pool of
    available (and relevant) talent and
    experience.

•Opportunities are accessible to all potentially
eligible applicants and are in formats and
media that are accessible to persons with
    disabilities.

•Marketing techniques do not exclude any
    particular group within society.

•All potentially eligible staff members have
    appropriate access to the marketing
approaches used in the case of internal
    appointment processes.

Thanks for that reply. I actually found out myself just this morning that the guidelines are 3 weeks minimum, two in extenuating circumstances.

Any website for that so people can check in the future if case they land on this boards thread from a search?
