To all Managers and Recruiters in Dublin Area - Applicant Tracking Systems?

    Hello,

I live in Dublin and I am in the process of applying for work, I've just done some pretty basic menial jobs which were very demanding with time and paid very little. While researching for my new job prospects I discovered some videos on YouTube and some threads on Reddit about Applicant Tracking Systems. This is very interesting and made me rethink my resume's layout.

    My questions to you are:

    1) Do you use a applicant tracking system at your place of work?, if so what is the company - what do you do and what is the name of the tracking system?
    2) If you know of this system and use it, do you have to use it for personal references (people you employ through a recommendation alone and not through traditional hiring methods) and people who have applied for jobs through messaging on LinkedIn or a jobs site?

Any company with a "apply online" button on their website probably uses an ATS, they are very common in any medium+ size business with a HR department.
I have no idea what rubbish is on Youtube about them, yes there are keywords filters etc, but they are a HR tool in 99% of cases.

ATS are the devil, or so my mama said.

I use one in work and all applications go into it. It's linked to our website, and any job ads we post, agencies send their candidates directly to is and if anyone emails in a cv it has a direct upload feature that I use to import their CV. Nobody escapes the ATS!

In reality all companies have some form of applicant tracking system, be it on an excel sheet in a paper folder or a SaaS solution. The SaaS solution is imo just better because it does a lot of the tedious bits for you
