Just saw Lescott's "goal", must be a case that any attempt on target is a goal regardless of how it does in, Hennessy basically dropped the ball, got mixed up and tapped it in over the line.

There have been some ridiculous decision regarding goals, o.g. given/not given and assists this season, i don't think i've benefit from one this season, and today - we have the hennessey o.g. which my rivals have and get away with.

that was the hard and fast rule
    on target = goal
does not matter what the keeper may have done if defender etc had not deflected it
    on target= goal
until the kolarov incident ........and now here we are again
    on target = goal
at the time I said I wonder what would happen if a goalie ended up throwing one in over next few weeks
and here we are ...........very very very annoying

leader of my pay league 2k in the world just made his 6th transfer of the season wanyama to gareth barry. He has kompany and bolasie and has decided to start barry over vardy.

Vardy to Rooney transfer worked this week.

Decided to keep Willian on captaincy as a precaution.

Well after all the 'who to bench' palaver earlier and concluding that Payet was the safest I thankfully committed at about 6pm to keep him in for his differential value. Remains to be seen whether benching Alli rather than Mahrez will play out well but 13 from 2 is good news so far.

Fecking Souaré seems completely unable to score fpl points unless he's got a dodgy fixture and therefore likely to be benched. Getting a bit sick of him.

How is Willian captaincy a precaution? It's a gamble if anything.

Had Payet all week in my wildcard team until 15:39 today when I swapped him for KdB.

    What was I thinking :(

Hopefully DeBruyne will match his score.

Antonio last on the bench with 2 assists...

Kane to go ham tomorrow could make this my best 4 point hit in awhile

I accidentally have him as my lone striker. I expect him to do diddly squat as the last time I pinned hopes on his captaincy, he got me 2 points.

I hate having him, find him crazy unreliable, going to get rid for Aguero or Ighalo soon.

24 from 2....I'm one of the 3 lads who voted payet for captain... I just hope aguero blanks... I will be sweating tomorrow I imagine

    Captaincy stats, top 1000:

    Ozil 36.4%
    Kane 27.3%
    Mahrez 18.2%
    Butland 9.1%
    Aguero 9.1%

I can't get my head around this and won't be able to sleep.

Has anyone checked to see if these 1000 have a history of c'ing goalkeepers?
Is it something to do with the software auto changing it when the previous choice (maybe Vardy) moves to orange?

14 from 3. Great from Payet, disappointed I doubled up on a Palace defence though.

Onto Aguero (C) & Kane hat-tricks tomorrow, Walker and Wollschild getting 4 each for differentials.

    It'll happen.. :D

Love payet. Looking forward to bringing him in soon

14 from 3, happy with that.

On a side note, the lads leading in my 3 main leagues have captained:
Kane... Nothing wrong with that, perfectly good and sensible captain call.
    Butland... ????
And in the 3rd main league the leader captained SCOTT DANN???
Obviously didn't work out for him, but doesn't change the fact he's the bones of 140 points ahead of me.

Brought Willian in this week instead of Payet because of fixtures.
Made the same move for the exact same reasons.

So Hennessey blew up my double Palace CS (and could still get an OG deduction) & Payet ran the show. Aside from injuries/cards my FPL evening coouldn't have gotten much worse. I'm glad I watched movies tonight :p.

Just seen Hennessey's **** up, very unlucky the way it eventually went in. Frustrating!

Fell asleep for the second halves :)

Just woke up on the couch. Get in there Payet. Can't help but feel disappointed with myself for not going for Rooney, he was a differential that I needed.

Brilliant! It's been that type of season. Makes me feel a lot better.

As for 9.8% of the top 1000 captaining Butland, surely that is an error?

Aguero TC tonight. I'm as nervous as could be :D

I think you're underestimating how weird this season is.

A huge amount of the top 1k, I'm sure, are excellent players, and have rolled with the season expertly.

There are also a number of players still in the high reaches who i believe have little idea what they're doing.

I really can't wait until decisions like this are heavily punished.

While I agree that some players have done well to adapt and the heavy hitters haven't performed, stuff like butland captain is crazy no matter what.

I feel like I'm in a decent position now, 140k in the world, wildcard and all chips remaining with a high team value. Have aguero and can get sanchez/hazard/Costa in one transfer without sacrificing another expensive player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,674 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

My infamous 'got to the top of the world' guy still has no Aguero. No KDB. No Costa. No Payet. Sold Lukaku as soon as he saw a yellow flag.

His highest value player is Ozil, who he's captained.

I'd like to think he'll be punished sooner or later.

He'll bring Payet in next week I'd say, as he's cheap and has performed.

I have to say I don't get the surprise and shock being expressed here about someone captaining Butland, he is the 9th highest scorer in the game.

I will qualify this by adding that I have Butland and not only did I not captain him, I actually benched him for Hennessy (that went well ) but it's hardly the strangest call ever.

One deflected shot, circa 2 point score. That's not the sort of reliability you want from your captain.

A good captain is someone who will be dependable for a 6+ score, but also has the capability to go 15+ on a really good week with the right fixture. You can't get that from a goalkeeper.

I do agree with you and I have never captained a GK but Butland has hit double figures 3 times this season and a 9, so its not the strangest call in the world, IMO the number of people captaining Ozil is far more surprising.

I look forward to Butland saving a penalty and assisting Walters in the ensuing counter attack.
