Very frustrating at the end ... the audio dropped for most of Dave Grohl's contribution, and then again when it looked like they were going to perform a song.

But lots of good stories that reinforced all the good stories you ever heard about the man, the legend - Lemmy. RIP.

Yeah, shame about the sound problems.

But putting his bass against the amps at the end was a great finish - he wouldn't want it any other way :)

    RIP Lemmy

Well played, Squeeze :) I like how the Camera pans out to show Cameron just as they are delivering the smackdown

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jan/10/squeeze-protest-david-cameron-live-bbc-andrew-marr-show-welfare-state
The band Squeeze have staged a protest against David Cameron live on BBC television by changing the lyrics of their new song to rail against the destruction of the welfare state.

Glenn Tilbrook, one of the founding members of the band that once featured Jools Holland, sang a different version of the final verse in the presence of the prime minister to criticise those “hellbent” on destroying the UK’s social safety net.

As the prime minister sat on the sofa watching the band, who were at the height of their fame in the early 1980s, when Cameron was a teenager, Tilbrook amended the last verse to sing:

"I grew up in council housing,
Part of what made Britain great,
There are some here who are hellbent,
On the destruction of the welfare state."

    RIP David Bowie :(

I only watched the 'Cracked Actor' documentary a few days ago.

One of the, if not THE most influential artists of all time.

    Thank you for the music.

Terrible news to wake up to.

A giant of music for all time. Even when he knew his time was short he kept going, bringing out a new album on his birthday last week.

6Music are playing some great memories now (and all day) well worth listening in if you can.

Genius Icon Legend Pioneer - words that are usually overused, but not today.

I've only just realised how frail Bowie looked in his final months - and especially in the video for "Blackstar".

It's a strange ch-ch-change all the same. This might be a cliché, but a piece of the music industry has died with him.

    RIP Bowie. :(:(:(

BBC 1 tonight 7.30 David Bowie Special. Sound and Vision.

Channel 4 tonight 10.35 David Bowie. A Tribute.

Gutted. Myself and the wife had our first dance to David Bowie at the school disco in 1971. First Kiss. First clumsy fondle. So many memory's.

I'm not sure what more to say apart from drink will be consumed tonight. Songs will be sung. Memory's revisited.

Also, BBC2 are showing a repeat of the excellent 2013 Bowie Documentary 'Five Years' at 11.15pm (But at 12.15am on BBC2 NI)

BBC Four "is also in discussions about whether to air any programming on Monday evening related to the star’s death, although it has decided not to clear its schedules, as some had expected. It is thought a fuller tribute to the star on the channel is likely to take place in a week or two."

Lots of Bowie programming on BBC Radio tonight too (see link below for details)

David Bowie documentaries/concerts/tributes tonight on Sky Arts, all the way through to 1am :)

The Point Show is on at 8.30 on Sky Arts. Most of us have seen it but for them that haven't - its the man himself leading one of the tightest bands imaginable through a greatest hits set.
I'll probably record it then get high, drunk and weepy come the weekend. ****ing work.

Thanks for the tipoff - tuning in now.

Did he just shout "tiocfaidh ár lá"???

One of my new year's resolutions is to get back into watching good music shows at weekends in the company of you guys (if you'll have me!) - not this weekend, sadly, as I'm on night shifts - but soon :)
