Using eternal excess insurance for car hire

I'm trying to save myself a few squids on a car rental for a trip to the UK, but I don't want to scrimp on the insurance. I came across this, which would mean I would basically pay 9e excess cover for a 3 day trip instead of upward of 28e.

On the face of it, it seems like a no brainer - I'll read through the T&Cs, but just wondering if anyone has used them, and had to make a claim. If so, how did it pan out?

Would also be interested to know. I've used them, planning on using them again but have never had to make a claim.

I do this all the time but never had a claim so no idea of these companies do indeed refund you the excess no questions asked and as quickly as they maintain.

If you damage your rental car the rental car company will still charge your credit card with the excess and you then need claim this money back from excess insurance company.
