Only watched the highlights last night, great result, top class work for the goals from Bellerin, really happy that Campbell is getting plenty of game time too, a very tidy player who is improving with games.
Not really worried about getting any team in particular tonight

Good result nice to see the FACup run continue even though Id prefer us to concentrate on PL and CL.
Nice balance of experimentation with established players yesterday.
Good to see Campbell put in the sort of shift we need from tier 2 players wnating to break thru to tier 1.
Note Cattermole and OShea came off in 2nd half , before we got our 2nd,3rd goals.

The last thing Giroud needed was another full 90 mins, he has looked tired in recent matches, i would much rather him having got some rest, we could have played our other PL quality front man to lead the line,, oh hang on we havent got one

Id be wary if we throw in our big guns for the next round.

Maybe Wally to start upfront vrs Pool then?

We really need to win it considering their defensive issues.

With giroud and walks starting yesterday I think there is a chance of Sanchez playing

The weird thing is that for ages, I wanted Wenger to play Giroud up the middle and Theo down one of the flanks, but he just wouldn't play them together. He was clearly making them fight for the same position.

Now he's gone the complete other way, and seems hellbent on playing them both, even when it's not necessary. Strange one.

Think Walcott and Giroud work best when he's keeping them on their toes.

I agree that Giroud has looked like he needed a rest but they did have a week off before the game and apparently a few of the players were given a few days off training as well so maybe that was enough to get his energy levels back up.

Haven't they both been playing because we essentially have no other options?

Until Sanchez is back we have to play both Theo and Giroud. Though i'm not sure which we drop when he's back.

Depends on who we're playing i guess.

I'd imagine with Sanchez back he'd play left with Theo right and Giroud up top.

And where does Ramsey play? Obviously still in the middle for now because of the injuries we have, but I don't see that as Wenger's long term plan.

You don't think Ramsey in the middle is a long term plan for Wenger? I sure don't think playing him on the wing is.

I thought you talking talking more in the short term for when Alexis is back in a couple of weeks. We always have a tonne of injuries so I'm sure they'll all get a game.

I think Wenger see Ramsey as more flexible and as such he moves around. I don't think Wenger see Ramsey as strong enough in any one area of his play to demand a spot of his own. I think this is maybe because Wenger probably sees him as not having a particular weakness that restricts him either.

That's an interesting view. I think that Wenger almost views Ramsey as undroppable. Even when he plays really badly for a period of time, Wenger will always put him in the starting lineup.

Long term, I view us as having something like:

    Alexis
    World Class Striker
    Theo/Ox/Some new attacker

    Ozil

    Ramsey
    Coq/Some new DMF

I fully expect Santi and Ramsey to share more game time in the middle, even when Santi is fit again. Ramsey has done enough to show that he brings much more in an attacking sense, and he has had to play with average defensive midfield partners.

Who makes up this stuff for the Star?

"Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to splash out £52m on two young stars; Granit Xhaka and Adrien Rabiot"

Never heard of the first fellow and only saw the second lad mentioned in here.

Xhaka is class, Swiss international and plays for Monchengladbach. Only 22/23. Will end up at a big club.

Hard luck Leicester but at least it's a nice draining replay for Hot-snots

Another game for Leicester too. We have them in 4 weeks at home.

True. Had Leicester won though it would have put an enormous smirk on my face. Always nice to put that shower back in their box

No way was that a penalty at the end.
    Shocking decision.

No harm Spurs having that extra game. Hope it goes to extra time and then Leicester score. :pac:

How funny would it be if we did sign him and he never got injured again
