I'd found my own charity, work in that charity as a volunteer so I know exactly all the money raised is donated.

I'd also do a post doctorate in English, and buy a whole lot of MAC Makeup

I'd buy a truck load of silicone for all those poor people down in Athlone.

Pay off my mortgage, give money to my family, and pack my (and my own family's) suitcases to travel the world.

    Would ya be happy though?

    Those people are never happy.

I'd get loads of takeaway pizza and buy a gaff, give myself a reasonable allowance and keep going to college.

    I'm boring and sensible

Bring the family on a holiday too

I would. I would be very happy indeed.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Powerballs are highly taxed. I imagine you will get 35% less when you take away the tax and the fact you getting it in a lump sum. Most lotto winners in the US go bankrupt rather quickly. So I would get a fee based financial advisor and invest it wisely. Why settle for €400m when you can have billions?

    Why?

Aside from making sure that myself and family and friends were very well provided for, I'd probably use the rest for prize funds for running competitions which amused me.

I'd send the family on holiday.

I'd collect it. No point in getting carried away booking holidays when you're so excited and forget in the excitement you don't have the cold hard cash to play with.

Then obviously I'd hire myself a slave, build a doggie palace and hire people to play ball with my dogs all day long until the dogs got bored. They would eat roasts, and steaks and basically anything they'd like. I would rescue many dogs as I could from unhappy homes and pounds. I would like a giant ball pit with slides and doggie treats hidden all over the place.

My slave would do my hair and makeup every day, we would buy a ridiculous amount of shoes (I don't want a scruffy slave)
She would be good at making crisp sandwiches and cheeseboards for dinner.
I would be hooked up to a permanent iv to a nice Chardonnay
Slave can hire her own slave to clean and tidy and do ironing
I would have an on site spa, to have massage wraps and facials anytime I wanted

I'd prob be broke again in 5 years, but what a 5 years it would be

Not a good plan. If it flies, floats or f*cks, far cheaper to hire than buy. Easier to upgrade too.

Invest it, buy nothing(maybe a gaff with a bit of land as a bolt hole so even if you lose the lot…), keep your outgoings low. Don't do the live like a millionaire showing off nonsense. If any part of your plumbing is gold plated, you're going too far.

Yes. Now if you're a miserable sod born minus the happy gene, the initial buzz won't last, but if you're a glass half full type you're going to have a far better life and more choices and more time than you would without the money.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

    I'm not greedy.

As long as I have my rocket car, solid gold house and millions of dollars, I'm happy.

I'd pay the Ruskies or whoever for a flight to the ISS. If they've stopped doing it, I'd offer more.

Tbh, I'd give away a fair chunk of it. I certainly don't need that much money.
    I'd buy boards.is.

    I'd buy a subscription.

I definitely wouldn't work a bank holiday again, and I could go for some liver and onions right now.

Remember people, this is in the states. After taxes, the winner will probably only get a quarter of the money if they're lucky.

Well I can't say I've actually seriously thought about what I'd do if I won a lottery but it'd go a little something like this:

Buy a modest but pleasant house in the countryside with enough space to grow fruit/veg, for dogs to run around
Open a business or two as you need something to focus on and keep your feet on the ground
I wouldn't just necessarily give family money. I'd look at who is actually deserving of some help and either help them financially or in a manner suitable to them
I'd certainly look helping out an animal rescue of some sort. I'd possibly deposit a sizeable lump sum to generate a healthy interest amount for them each year
I'd look to see how my locality could improve, there are areas which could do with some investment but have never been developed
I would like to travel but would still do so modestly. A private jet, 5 star hotels aren't going to make things that much better

Overall though I'd seek out good advice to make sure I stayed grounded and work to figure out how best the money could be used to benefit other people without being frittered away. I think when you have that amount of money you have a responsibility to help genuine people who are worse off than you.

I heard only Bill gates, Zuckerberg and Pat Kenny have boards.ie subscriptions.

And the Rothschilds, to keep an eye on what's posted in the conspiracy forum.
