How would one go about presenting references that are in a foreign language? Should i provide my own translation and suggest refering to google translate to verify? Anybody been in this position before?

The professional norm would be a notarized translation, which will of course not be cheap.

A workaround may be possible if there is someone in authority at the previous place of employment who can vouch for you in the required language?

A good tip in general is to always request any required references etc in English if at all possible, with it being the international commercial language.
