Remote control of gas central heating?

I have a bog standard central heating system - gas boiler with timer (about 7 or 8 years old), non-thermostatted rads, all functions perfectly well.

I'd love to organise some system of being able to remotely control this - basically to be able to turn it on while away from the house.

Is this possible? I don't even know where to start - do I contact an electrician, a plumber, a gas installer?

Any help appreciated - like I say, I don't even know whom, or what questions, to ask!

If it's just basic on off control then I would suggest getting your electrician or RGI to install a Wemo Switch or better still the Insight version. It should be a very simple install.
