Is there any decent app for the XDA Forums? I see one paid one but the reviews are few and poor.

I personally don't see a single reason for apps for forums. Bizarre.

I'm using the official app. It was free?

I use the free XDA forum app and it is flaky. I tried tapatalk, which can plug into XDA but found it cumbersome for what I want. I would like to see what other people are using.

XDA doesn't have a mobile site so an app is a real must.

Actually I just remembered there is an XDA One app. Google it. I just reinstalled it. This does the news and forums. It is in alpha so may be unpredictable. I will go a this a go for a while.

I installed it weeks ago and totally forgot to install after my latest clean install.

When you say Bizarre! Do you mean Bizarre, Unprecedented, Grotesque, Unbelievable?

    Or just plain old Bizarre?

Weird, because I don't understand it, and see no need.

While on this topic can anyone recommend a good app for boards.ie?

Browser and touch site for me, reallh works well and miles better than the app. Just add the shortcut to your homescreen and you are away for slates.

Have to say, trick shot was one off the most enjoyable games I played in a while.

Another +1 for this. Pretty simple but enjoyable game.

I finally found the (near) perfect car dock that has integrated Google music player with gesture controls and displays Google maps in GPS heads up mode. It's only just come out of beta so it's getting lots of support

Guys I'm looking for something of a local alternative to plex for my TV box ie does what plex does but for files on the USB hard drive, I've tried Mizuu which 100% is what I'm looking for but fails to play 50-75% of the time. Any ideas?

Also any suggestions for apps for an android device on a TV , not talking about dodgy stuff, just useful ones outside of the usual well known ones for catch up tv and netflix etc

Any recommendations for apps that would be good for preventing others to run in the background? My battery seems to be draining faster than I'd like.

Don't go down this route, task killers go against the way Android works and usually cost you battery, what you kill usually just starts again costing CPU cycles not saving them.

Root, install the Xposed kernel and then use Boot manager, Greenify and Amplify modules to control apps launching at startup, limit wake locks and control app hibernation.

Or just download gsam battery monitor and see which apps are using most power. Chances are there's a rogue app hogging the power.

I have been playing Hitman Sniper for the last while. Good fun and challenging.

Humph -- there's no backup option on the Cynaogen Recovery I have on the OnePlus One running CM12.1.

Yep. Had to uninstall the Journal and RTE news apps a while back because they were killing my battery.

Not as bad as it use to be, the top stories is more the issue with the new app

A lot of phones now have phone management software preloaded, Huawei have a great one, controls cpu etc, kills apps when screen off, tells you if there's apps using alot of battery

I've shut down quite a lot of what Facebook can get access to, through Privacy Guard (one of my favourite things about owning a OnePlus One so far), so it's actually not using up much, 0.1% according to GSam. The highest is Android System at 16%.
