Would your average motor factors have B8.5D bulbs?

If it's like anywhere i've ever worked, they will slide out a box with "dash bulbs" written on it and let you paw through it. Using a product code is beyond the intellect of a lot of parts workers.

Ah yes, devil fuel tax talk.

I paid my €280 yearly tax fee a while back, no idea when it's expiring and I don't really care :D

Now that I think of it, I wonder if anyone actually pays quarterly tax on the "chape tax daysuls" out there?

I have my tax, insurance and Timming belt due in May that's going to be an expensive month :( I can't wait to get out of college and start working full time then I won't be too bad. What people's reconning on insurance for this year would I be too optimistic to think ill pay the same this year with an extra year ncb or is it likely to go up anyway I'm dreading getting the renewal any kind of a major increase and I'm up well over 1500 quid for insurance.

Just checked some of my stats on Fuelio app.

On average, I have used €12.56 petrol every day. €280 a month. Tax and insurance is another €100 a month. (about 1200 p/a for the two together)

    Let's not mention depreciation.

I am sure there are a few owners on here that wouldn't even want to know what they are putting in. V8s and straight 6s I am looking at you!:D

I've done this before and then think what's even the point as regardless of cost it's not as if I'm going to stop owning a car it's probably the only area that I would never approach to cut costs.

I'm spending roughly 200 per month on fuel and 120 ish per month on tax and insurance in a diesel Megane :o if that makes you feel any better. My saving grace is I have no car loan, I pay my insurance and tax in yearly lump sums so then it feels like it costs me fcuk all as on a weekly basis I'm only paying for fuel :pac: I know this is not an option for some and many prefer to have cost broken into smaller monthly repayments.

I was actually considering buying a brand new car next year a while ago as loads of people have said it to me but it would kill me to have to pay out a monthly car loan to be entirely honest I'd hate it when I know that I have a perfectly good car now that I pay nothing for which dear I say after a rocky start is growing on me. But I'm well aware of the benefits of having a new car with warranty on it and lower running maintenance cost and pcp means low repayments so it makes sense for a lot of people and I could change my mind into the future yet too. I just have a bad feeling that the new car feeling would wear of after 3 months whereas the loan won't. All down to people's preference really there's no right way of doing it as they are costly no matter what way you do it save on capital cost end up with increased operating costs and vice versa.

    Hello

We at Irish Subaru Drivers Club Forum would like to wish you a happy birthday today!

I've browsed there the odd time but haven't in months yet I get this. It's not even my birthday or is it some subaru joke .

More than likely you did not set your birthday date while registering over there, so system gave you default date (1st of Jan). :)

I think I calculated my car costs me about 120 euro a week between tax insurance and petrol. I'd rather not overthink it though :P

Im also looking at my current car expenditure. Its not pretty, between fuel, tax and insurance Im spending 6k a year ( 4200 of that is fuel) Im currently in a period of my life where cost is becoming everything as Im trying to put away money for a house. I never thought I would be looking at small engined diesels but needs must. Im looking into buying a 08/09 Focus 1.6tdci. Chape tax thanks to the greens(fools) much cheaper insurance but the biggest thing is I will save nearly 2.5k on fuel cost per annum, Something I can't really ignore any longer. Im young enough to own cool cars in the future so a couple of years of boredom I can put up with.

Check out an FR, VRS or the like. Fcuk all difference in running costs compared to a 1.6 and much more bearable. You might have to go a year older but it would be worth it.

I've just seen the ad for the new suzuki vitara and it says you get six months free road tax :pac:

Yeah keeping my options open. As a VAG head Id love a vRS but prices are strong. Even with the rubbish conversions rates buying a focus in the UK works out much cheaper than here so thats my route most likely.

I'm kinda in that boat now too. My mates are looking at houses and apartments and I'm here thinking of spending 23 grand on a mini JCW or an sti impreza. I don't think I could go back to driving a run of the mill car just yet!

Was getting no heat in the Cabin until I was up to around 60 MPH lately, bought a new thermostat and coolant, all she needed was to be bled, quite a bit of air in the system. Now I'm going to install it when/if I attempt the CCV rebuild which is on it's way. NCT in the morning which it'll fail but hopefully isn't too serious.

Depends on whether they're those bog cover caps that cover the wheel nuts, or just the little ones that cover the centre bore.
Once you know the centre bore size you can get them on ebay or similar.

I know, brutal all together! Not sure why I didn't even think to bleed it before buying the stat but sure now I have a spare!

No harm to have, I remember when a friend done the head on one he was longer trying to bleed it than putting it back together!

Some say you need to bleed them while half full and then top up slowly as filling it too early leads to massive air pockets!
