What time should parties end in a suburb?

What time do people consider a party should end in a semi-detached house in the suburbs?

My neighbour's daughter and her unpleasant friends continued their party till 6am. They like the Eagles a lot, and like to sing along.

(Is there a law on this, as there is in some European countries?)

When they go to bed at 7-8am, start playing Beethoven really loud against their walls.

    F*ck em.

Why no 'lunchtime' option in the poll?

Why no distinction between weekday and weekend or holidays? Its relevent.

To answer the legal question, no defined laws on this issue in Ireland. Instead its a noise pollution complaint through the local EPA office which is usually attached to the county council offices.

Good luck with that though, it took me 5 years and multiple video, audio and written records to get neighbours from hell evicted via the courts after the EPA and PRTB made a complete balls of my complaints.

I Can’t Tell You Why as I was In the City, so I'm unsure How Long. When I got back there was a Peaceful Easy Feeling, perhaps they were Already Gone.

Kids these days Take It to the Limit, so you were never going to get a Peaceful Easy Feeling.

    Midnight
By 8pm I shouldn't have to hear the neighbors anymore.

    They like Billy Joel too.

I've nothing against student parties, mind - even with such execrable music - and don't mind them going on as late as they like in student housing, but I don't know that a semi-detached house or an apartment with others living on the shared walls is the right place for them.

I think for once or twice a year, they can be late: I mean, New Year's Eve? Knock on the door and join in!!

but as a regular thing, no.

Once in a while a late Saturday night - brief the neighbours - bit of a curfew after 1 a.m. on a weekend.
[Warn smokers not to chatter loudly outdoors, turn down music]
    And not EVERY weekend!!

Outside of that - shirty looks.

School nights - curfew from 11.

That's much how it plays out in my respectable suburb, anyway.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I'd like to take advantage of your tolerance. Where do you live, so I can come and put some speakers against your walls and play Piano Man over and over again in the early morning?

I don't know what execrable means but I'm pretty sure The Eagles aren't it.

Assuming you are referring to last night, there's not a court in the land that's going to side with you. Most parties didn't get going until 11pm.

The Eagles are fine when played by nostalgic 60-year-olds.

The Beastie Boys fought for our right to party. Should their deaths be in vain!?

Except now your neighbours were up all night and rather than allow them some respite from the noise, you've just joined in and they probably think you are both jerks. I used to hate that! Bad as each other in my opinion!

The woman next door to us had her Bridge buddies around last night. The racket of their laughing and making cups of tea had us disturbed up to 8pm.
The dirty look I gave her this morning.

Why do people suggest classical music for revenge? Go with some black metal with a screechy singer like Burzum or early Primordial

Desperado why don't you come to your senses
Come down from your fences open the gate
It may be rainin' but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
You better love somebody love you
    Before it's too ooo late

I had neighbours like that. I also have about 275 watts of vox valve amp in the house, and am an early riser who likes motorhead. The ****ers didn't enjoy it and copped on fairly quickly.

Seriously, it's time that Ireland had some laws on how late you can party in suburbs and apartment blocks. Fine if you want to hire a hall and go crazy all night, but not where other people need to sleep.

We need to have a specific law that says "You can party till 10pm" or "midnight", or "1pm", or whatever is agreed.

There shouldn't be any parties in suburban estates. They should hire a hall or a hotel room, the scabby b@stards

Have a guard living beside us. His children throw all night parties during the summer. Loads of shouting and roaring till around 6am. So annoying. You can't ring the local guards about it, because he is one of them. It's actually annoying because the family are rich, and should be able to hire out a hotel room or a pub function room to host their party. Instead they'd rather inflict it on a suburban estate which contains mostly older people

I wish my neighbours would play The Eagles at excessive volume in the wee hours. City folk have all the fun

I wish I had no neighbours. Well I am very lucky with where I live but oh to be up a mountain far away from everyone. My old favourites playing as loud as I like, dancing about the place in the nip. Hell, we gotta have dreams :)
