Maybe I'm alone in this thought...literally and figuratively; but was thinking, whats the big deal about going out on new years?
i'm not gonna lie, I am sitting here in front of the fire with a cold beer and my dog, but I just don't get why everyone goes out this night.
over the years, i've found it to be the most impossible night to make plans. nobody knows where they are going or what they are doing, and from experience, it usually ends in rows :P and it is never as "epic" as you'd like it to be.

i know i'm a dry ****e here with me fire and beer and soon to be whiskey, but meh.
    happy new year y'all :)

    People like counting!
It's basically Sesame Street that caused all of this!

The anti-Christmas crowd usually have a good anti-religious "everything should be secular and bland in this day and age" rant for getting people riled up but this is a bit of an ould dud.

The only resolution I'm thinking of now is to get rid of this 1080p monitor and go with a much higher one soon when the money starts flowing in this new bubble of new yearness.

What's another beer for someone who's lost everything that he owns?
What's another beer For someone who's getting used to being alone?
I've been praying such a long time
It's the only way to hide the beer
    What's another beer?

What's the big deal about Jools' Annual Hootenanny ? It's always the same. Big brass bands. Blues and soul singers. Tom Jones. That's it

I too was in bed, but at midnight when the fireworks went off, the dogs thought it was party time!

I spent my 20's celebrating NYE out, after that I now have no interest, it's just another day, we still have to get up, the see ya next year jokes in work are old...

..... Just like me I suppose.

The bbc had Great coverage for new year celebration, made rte celebration look very poor in comparison

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,421 ✭✭✭AppleBottle

I completely agree. I'm so over crowded pubs and bars on NYE now that I rather just stay in. I went out last night, and while I had a good time, I would have rather stay at home.
