Flybe dash 8, Amsterdam to Liverpool just made a quick divert into Norwich.
    Sqwaking 7700

Fr24 seems to have it frozen a few miles out from the airport.

Dash 8's for flybe don't have ADB-S radars as far as I know so they lose coverage quite quickly.

Ethipian 505 seems to be lining up to land on R10 instead of R16. Latest winds 16027G41 kts. I wouldn't be trying it..

Sitting on FR2311. Too windy to take off apparently. Marginally outside limits is what the pilot says. I'm assuming radar will be showing lots of diversions over the next few hours

Flybe saying on twitter that this flight is due to leave and continue to Liverpool in 30 mins. I'm guessing it was a medical then.
Would they really drop a sick pax off and get going again that quick?

Shannon to Berlin? You were lucky that aircraft made it into SNN in the first place! The A320 due in 30mins ago and the Stobart due in 1 hour were cancelled. Large crosswind component at SNN atm. If the gusts drop off a little you may get lucky.

AFAIK the Ethiopians HAVE to use 10/28, they aren't licensed/cleared/whatever for 16/34. Nothing to do with weight either.

U2551 and U2466 seem to have made go arounds at BFS a few mins ago, both landed now on 2nd attempt.

Mean speed at DUB now only 21kts, max 37kts. Calm before a big gust?

Certainly windier near the coast than the readings at EIDW. I think EIDW is somewhat sheltered to a direct Southerly wind.

But certainly will get marginal for landings and takeoffs in next few hours

    What restricts them?

Yeap I read that too. I was wondering if the poster had additional info as to why they aren't licensed cleared whatever.

I read it on here, somewhere. As to any more info, I'd love to know it too!

It does seem quite odd that they are restricted on 16/34, I'd love to know the reasoning behind it.

Yes and unfortunately an awful lot of them show zero regard for other road users (very poor parking, parking on the bends, parking on the main road obstructing traffic)and for their own safety when getting in and out of their cars and when crossing the road.

I assume you've notified these offences to traffic watch and/or the local garda station?

Great. Some people will only learn the hard way.

It was stated here (I think) previously that ET company practice requires use of 10/28, as this reduces use of wheel brakes and they need to keep brake temps within limits for departure. This would presumably be more of an issue for the transit-only flights, which spend only about an hour on the ground in the mornings.

Looks like they have sent a different aircraft out from Berlin with the return flight, perhaps you'll get out on that one, if it manages to land that is!

What if 10/28 isn't available? Would an extra hour on the ground not be less costly than a diversion?

    ET505 about to take off again....from RWY16!

Can anyone check if there was a plane just tried but failed to land in Cork a few minutes ago? We heard a plane but it sounded different than the usual landing /take off noise. Im not technical as you can guess from this.:o
