    Could he be Wenger's successor???

nothing would surprise me at this stage. especially if AW has any influence over his successor which is highly likely!

hes not exactly in the AW mould though...

    The great.

Ozil. Arsenal should ring Real Madrid up and just give them another €20m.

    The good.

Gabriel attacked every corner, made a few good tackles and was generally solid. I still think it has to be either him or Kos because both have similar games (trying to get in ahead of the attacker) and he’s not a Mertesacker replacement.

Chambers was very bright from about 15 minutes on - everyone was understandably nervous at the start and he wasn’t getting too much of the ball but grew into it. Picked a couple of neat passes. Fucked up once or twice but a pleasant surprise. Definitely a better footballer than I thought.

The Ox had his best game I’ve seen from him in a while - still fairly brainless, but a lot more productivity and seemed more confident. If he could lift his head up, he’d be three times the footballer he is now.

Theo might get a lot of stick for the chances he missed but he created a lot of those through his runs and his workrate and I noticed he was helping both Gibbs and Bellerin out defensively (a lot more than he usually does). I thought he tried hard throughout.

Not Bellerin’s best game, but he was available the whole time and did make some great runs and a couple of important tackles.

Gibbs was fine. Wasn’t amazing attacking-wise but solid. Very few teams will have two left-backs better than Monreal and Gibbs.

    The not-as-good.

Giroud’s assist was lovely but he did the square root of **** all for the rest of the game. He was also anonymous versus Southampton. Need another option.

Ramsey looks better when Cazorla and Coquelin are actually playing midfield, because he’s just not disciplined enough to control the game. When you have Ox, Theo, Giroud and Ozil ahead of you, you have to be a bit more selective as to how many times you run ahead of the play to try and get on the end of moves.

Midfield cover - looking really threadbare now. If Ramsey gets injured, there is literally no one left!

    Great post.

Özil was just sublime today, as good as anything Bergkamp ever produced in that jersey. He's a f***ing magician!

    Woah! WOAH!

I love Ozil. Love the guy.

But cool your jets just a bit there!

That pr*cking about against Southampton could really cost us.

    It's ours to lose.

It's a mental season, but we should be cruising by now. Should have beaten the pool at home, beaten Norwich and got a point out of West Brom. We better not **** this up

Injuries will catch up with us especially centre mid.

I think we will sign two players this window

He will bring in a forward of some kind too

    yes and thats worrying.
we should really have the whole goal difference think wrapped up , which is worth a point potentially come end of the season
should have had 2 or 3 more V Man City, Bournemouth and should not have lost 4-0 either.. so thats a swing of 6-7 goals in our GD column..

btw thats another reason spurs worry me. they have te best GD in the Pl and only let in 15 goals in 19 matches.
and as we gooners all know a good defense will win you leagues and a bad defense wont.

Nothing like looking at a nice win and bringing something negative into it.

Sure, they have conceded 3 less goals than us, but we had 3 goals that shouldn't have been goals in the Southampton match alone. Not bothered.

He will only sign a DMF

I see Arsenal.com are doing a player of the year... I wonder who'll win

No, I didn't vote for OG btw...

It was and we should have won by a hell of a lot more.
Ozil ran the show totally and if it wasnt for poor finishing from our forwards we would have scored 4 or 5.

Anyway hopefully that will come good and lets hope for a Leicester win tonight.

    Reasons to be cheerful,
    Top of the league!
    Elneny signs tomorrow.
Matic’s shot vs united – wonderfully crap!

We have a really difficult second-half to the season and need to get a few points of a cushion asap. Need to get players back too, especially midfielders.

This is the hardest second-half of a season I can remember so its going to be extremely difficult. With a full squad I would be hopeful but we rarely have a full squad.

I still think Citeh will win the league...

    But fingers crossed!

The two players we could do with getting back quickest are Sanchez and Coquelin.
While its good that Sanchez should be back for the FA Cup or the game after its Coquelin that we will really miss in the tougher games.
Lets hope this new guy we have supposedly signed is up to the task.

Personally I feel with Ramsey in the middle we can cope without Santi which is why I didnt include him.

DB10 will always be my No1 but M1Ö is something v special- he's flying without wings

I see we are playing Man City away on second last day of season.

That could be a pretty important game :)
Its actually just after Champions League semi final for what its worth.

I didnt bring a negative into a nice win. I congratilated the team on a great win against a solid B'mounth side.
Theres loads of posts on here discussing title challengers.
Ive watched Spurs quite a bit, Id rate them more solid than City.

If posters think discussing who our title challengers are is a negative , then they probably be better suited following a team thats in a league with only one team in it.

btw at the end of the season the PL use the ACTUAL table and the ACTUAL goal difference in the table to decide who wins the league, the PL dont sit around and start cancelling out goals or awarding goals for a lark.

Finding someone to take the Spurs side of the bet may be the hard part...

Sure..... Picking City is easy money as you could just put the amount on Spurs and cant lose.

Well some here seemed to hint at Spurs being more of a threat

I think a lot of the spurs bashing on here is pre-programmed (i.e. you can't be a true gooner unless you hate the spuds above all others clubs.).

Personally I think they are a real dark horse and you have to respect the improvement they've made this season. I know its heresy on here to say it, but if they finished top four and we won the league I wouldn't be too upset. Especially if it meant one of city, chelsea and united were pushed out. I've far less respect for them than spurs.

    There I've said it!

I can live with the beginning but the bit from I know should be deleted. Anyone for the league rather than Spurs

Well I think Spurs along with Arsenal are one of the form sides of the season

Just a reminder to folks that reffering to a user by what you believe to be their previous username or stating/implying that someone is a re-reg is against the charter.

I've trawled through the thread to delete a few posts that were doing the above, any further instances will be carded.
