When city get their injured players back fit they will improve.

But hopefully by then we will have a few coming back.

Had an excellent NBC stream for the game tonight. Top coverage and Dixon was our rep there. Very good American pundit on it and I've always found Robbie Earle fair, sensible and objective

And a couple of extra bodies - the ITKs seem to be fairly confident we're buying which suggests to me we're advanced in talks with some options.

Word for Joel Campbell, thought he was decent again; proving himself to be a relatively reliable option. The likes of him and Monreal being able to step it up is making a huge difference. Cech too for £10m is more and more looking like bargain of the season.

I always feel the Liverpool pundits have it in for arsenal. Ever watch an arsenal match commentated on by Michael Owen, makes me want to rip my ears off.

They will never get over '89

Zabaleta and Fernando. Nasri too, but he's not coming back any time soon.

Yes but Silva and aguero were only back tonight.

I mean once they get fit and a few games under their belt there is no denying they will improve.

Tbf that's the normal reaction to every game with Owen commentating.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I put this on the match thread...whatever about City's injuries....we had Alexis,Cazorla, Coquelin, Wilshere, Welbeck, Rosicky out. Debuchy wasn't in squad tonight. that's amazing depth. Add to that in January and I won't over stress about the bad five away games we have.

in fact the way this team plays we are well equipped for them away from home...that was class tonight.

we could have gone 3-0 up...game over. that 2-1 is worth much more to us and our development.

Nasri and Zabaleta have been off form for some time.

Augero and Silva might need more game time but that isn't going to improve their defending really.

Bloody brilliant performance. If God were real, even he'd acknowledge that Ozil created space.

Also think Ramsey's going to explode again in terms of goals soon. Getting into some unreal positions from deep and just didn't get the rub of the green today. I kinda wish that he was a bit more cautious and that we were at less risk of being exposed, but what he offers going forward is potentially huge (if kept fit and the others learn how to cope with it!).

Elsewhere, Monreal is unreal (#1 underrated player in the league) and I thought Campbell was brilliant for the most part, as he has been since he has come into the team. A really admirable player who has much more to give granted time and patience. There's no quit in him either, for all that he's not as obviously classy as some of our other players.

Anyway, cracking win and it puts us in one hell of a position to go on and do big things this season. Us, as fans, deserve it to happen. We're put through the wringer in the most hilarious of fashions at times but I don't think these players - injury permitting - are too likely to make history repeat itself.

The squad is going to be stretched to its limits through the Christmas fixtures

Good Lord. How can you be so negative after a night like tonight??? FFS!!!!

    Do you really support us???

    Tayto is right.

Lets be honest, THIS is the season when we may have our best chance for a long time. Chelsea are in crisis and out of it, United are beyond woeful and City are there for the taking. It could be absolutely criminal not to seize this chance by not strengthening the squad. Fatigue has cost us Sanchez now until mid January, what happens if Ozil breaks?

He has to spend. There can be no excuses.

Carragher went ballistic when Sanchez was voted the better player than Payet this season! I'd actually agree with Carra on that one, but they were debating the LW position and Payet isn't really one.

Apparently John Aldridge went off on a big rant after their fluke champions league win in 2008

    " That's for 89!!"

    pathetic!

Thats right Steve, we only need one more to win the league. "Thomas, charging thought the midfield. Thomas, ITS UP FOR GRABS NOW!!"

Waiting at the 153 bus stop rather than walking home. Had a few celebratory pints after which is unusual but the missus and baby back home in Ireland for Christmas and I'll join them in a few days.

Great atmosphere tonight. Think the best of the season. Christmas pints before I reckon.

First half we had little possession but 2 cracking goals. Ozil is a genius. Player of the year by a mile. What a strike by Theo.

2nd half typical. Crapping it last 20 minutes.

Flamini and Gibbs are not up to it. Absolutely awful. Need a new DM until the coq is back or we will fade.

We had a great chance at the league 2 years ago and Wenger never replaced Theo. If he doesn't buy it is unforgivable.

    Great night.

Ps a bunch of French ultras on Holloway Road all arsenal fans. Weird. Chanting in French.

Striker and/or holding midfielder. We need options.

Yaya's goal was great, but Flamini should have closed that down.

Surely they'll hammer Watford. Might not bother watching.
