    Today is day with fewest hours of sunlight. Always make me marvel at those that built Newgrange years ago with the sun lighting up inside at sunrise. Where would you get someone that could do that now without use of computers etc...

    You're nearly right. The difference between our twenty four hour day and solar time make the solstice vary slightly. This year it's tomorrow the 22nd instead of the more usual 21st.
    Newgrange is a very special place, our ancestors had some understanding of the world around them. For all we advanced we have forgotten a lot too!

    We went to the Laurence centre, young lad lost his letter on the way and we had to retrace our steps was a fair queue by the time we got back, was a real good santa

    Calf missing this am. Looking since 8am and no sign. Drove every road for a good 40 mins too. River in flood here so unless the worst has happened :(

    water too dirty to see into it properly for a body.

    Rang a few lads so maybe he will turn up yet.

    Hope he returns for ye. Lost a calf for 24 hours here before and he turned up at the neighbours so don't give up hope!
