question guys have a 2007 mk2 saloon and I am having a problem fueling the thing . Basically if I go to the petrol station and hold down on the pump the fuel fills for half a litre then goes slack . Now if I hold the handle down midway I can get it to fill but it takes about 15 mins to fuel the car . I had an indy do a quick dissasembly of pipe and he couldnt see anything wrong . Anybody any ideas I have heard stories about a expensive valve been cause of this .. I would rather not drag it to ford and get hit with an expensive bill . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated , links to possible suspect parts would be brilliant
    Thanks again in advance

Not a DIY issue, moved to main forum.

Try holding the nozzle upside down with lever at the top. Makes the fuel go straight down.

I used have a car that needed me to do that. Otherwise fuel used to back up and cut the pump off. Always worked when I held upside down.

Hi Glomar, I'm just wondering did you find a solution to your problem? I'm having similar difficulties at the moment with my '08 focus and finding it difficult to come up with a solution.
    Cheers!

spoke to Ford about it , they said they had seen it but wouldnt be specific on the fix . Something expensive i suspect . Anyway have learnt to live with it .. replacing it late next year .

Cheers for the reply! Yeah I'm imagining expensive too. Anyway I'll see what happens over the coming weeks. If I get any joy I'll post update.
