I heard on BBC Weather today that the British Isles may have a cooler spell by Christmas Eve so the heat for may not last for much longer coming up to Christmas Day and the new year.

I was in Penneys in Dun Laoghaire on Thursday evening and felt like I was stuck in an oven after only being there for 10 minutes.

It was 15 degrees when I was coming home last night. I'm sure that is warmer than some days during the summer. There was no need for a coat yesterday. I was reading on facebook that it was warmer here than some places around the world like in Spain and Italy!

Something similar happened in 1997 when I worked in Scotland. We were out cutting the grass on the golf course on Christmas Eve it was so warm.

Birds making nests etc thinking it was spring.. Then bang.. 1st Jan 3ft of snow and -10c at night..

I actually saw a fella wearing shorts and a tshirt in Cork today doing his Christmas shopping. No word of a lie!

My Dad lives in a town in France that usually is covered in snow at this time of year. It's been 16-17 degrees and sunny for the last few days. Mad stuff.

I'm coming home for the first time in 5 yrs. It's currently 42c where I am at the minute so a return to anything below 10 would be a real treat.

My heating bill says otherwise! I don't know about anyone else, but I am paying markedly less for this than usual!

You know all them backpackers that come back to Ireland and boast that they had their Christmas dinner on a beach in Sydney? They'll have nothing to boast about after this Christmas, I tell ya

My poor mothers in an awful state, her second fridge (the conservatory with no heating turned on) is more like a second oven this year... She's no idea where she will store the booze and fizzy drinks now!
