LOL it won't cost near that. I've a friend who'll do it for well less that half that, my mum knows that, it's not like I could afford to go to a hairdresser or beautician! But it's been months since I've got my hair done, it's practically in dreadlocks at this stage. I literally can't brush it anymore, it needs something done. The rest of the money will go on bills, and food and nappies, and other essentials. But it's still really nice to have a little treat! :)
Jeez, you drive a hard bargain! Okay then...€20 and a free selection box for the kid (not a real selection box though...a bit expensive...I was thinking one of those cheap ones in a plastic mesh shaped like a stocking with bars you never heard of) and consider yourself madeover :)

I'd book myself into a cheap hotel or guesthouse far from home but close to a scenic spot for two days of photography all by myself. No kids duty for 2 whole days !

Soon as your back was turned they'd be swapping the sleeping bag for another bag.... of drugs!!!!

Better off buying the drugs for them yourself and cutting out the trip to North Face. ;)

Categorising every homeless person in such an assumption is disingenuous I think.

What would I spend €100 on myself for ? the above. It's only money.

PS: I'm broke and I'd still pass on the €100. Share the wealth I say. But most folk would say... fcuk you people I only look after my own. Enclosed societal thinking of their fellow man/woman. Share the real monitory wealth in gold bars, fcuk the paper.

I'd maybe throw it on Mourinho rejoining Chelsea at some stage. Play the long game.

If I had to spend it soley on myself.. it would go on board games, art supplies, baking supplies or books.... in that order.

Ha I love a sad and sedate life for someone in their twenties.

Are things that bad that we need to fantasise over having €100.
I remember threads about what would you do if you won the lotto, I miss those celtic tiger days when our fantasies were better.

What is shocking is that E100 appears trivial to you! For most of us it has always been a lot.... I have all I need on my pension and even the small luxuries that make a difference. Someone sent me E20 in a card this week; sent it to my family to feed babies in India. If I won the lotto ( do not do it) would do the same. Today I DO have extra cash as Social Welfare payments are double and I will be very extravagant indeed! Christmas lights; all of E5....a few paperbacks from a charity shop at 50 cents each as I cannot connect with the Mobile Library before Christmas. Looking forward today to the Great Food Price War in town as all is so cheap now!

I'd probably donate it to the Cistercians.

??? they are loaded already! Why would you do that?

Well maybe a lot of people have that to spend on themselves, but I'm definately broke!

I'd buy a radio for my car :)

You can have mine.. It was in the car and I never use it...

Bourgeoisie, proletariat, entitled capitalist culture, that's what the main stream media want you to think, Starbucks, corporate colonialism.

I'm afraid that pretty much every last person who is actually sleeping rough in Ireland is an addict of some description. Those who are homeless but are not addicts generally have the wherewithal to get into emergency accommodation.

I would see use it toward a new chair for my bedroom. I watch most of my tv in my room and need a more comfortable chair.

Take my gentleman friend out for a slap-up meal in our favourite restaurant, which would be enough to cover it where I live.

Are you the lady I met an Inch beach early this year who was doing exactly that? lol!

Nice idea.. I got a lovely comfy chair from Vincent de paul for a tenner... The cat loves it...

Sad truth but the hostels do a sterling work with them. My family work in Canada with the homeless and their wisdom is never ever give them money as it will go on drugs. Candy is grand as addicts need the sugar ...and warm clothing etc. The best in the hard winters they have there is a bale of hay.

So now you're admitting that my light hearted comment is, in fact, the reality. Words fail indeed.

I have a check from the national lottery to lodge into my account, it is €125 from matching 4 numbers in the Euromillions, 3 away from €116 million.
So 100 euro will keep me playing the lottery...I want more than €125, it is not what dreams are made of.

Funnily enough, I recently received an unexpected €110 refund, and am wondering what to do with it. I'm probably going to save it, but did consider donating €100 to Wikipedia.
